correct! im not sure if anyone plays it still though. i personally think mini agnostic games are the way to go if you want something approaching that, since you are more likely to find an opponent (and they are often frankly better designed and a lot cheaper).
killteam is the small scale game but theres no real customization and iirc nobody with any terminators. i might reccommend one page rules firefight, which isnt official gw but is fairly simple, fun and has all the gw stuff statted into it (under copyright avoiding names). pretty good community too

you say that but one of the most successful series of shooters of the last decade, with huge emphasis on mastery within the community, is CoD who's most popular mode was TDM for a long time.

lots of places in NA if you are parked in a campervan anywhere near human habitation cops will constantly harass you since they consider you homeless. i had a friend that lived in one for a while and finding places where he wouldnt get cops telling him to move at 4am was a constant struggle
