Organize your travel around passions instead of destinations. An itinerary based on obscure cheeses, or naval history, or jazz joints will lead to far more adventures, and memorable times than a grand tour of famous places. The point is to get away from the expected into the unexpected.#KKtraveltips

Young folks: can you change the world the adults created?
Or should I say can you fix the world we all created? Take a listen whatever your age.

Your comment is a good reminder for us - military dictatorships are growing I fear.

I loved it too. Your anthology Sinopticon taught me so much about the diversity and depth of the Chinese science fiction tradition. Sci-fi reveals so much about life. We should get together for a quick video chat-I’d like to explore your views of our short term future, say 2026-2028.

Gratitude Thanksgiving thoughts

"Our faith is a living thing, and it can be crippled or chained. It can be killed by denying us enough food or clothing, by blasting away our personalities and keeping us in constant fear."

Universal basic income brings freedom from want for all. Happy Thanksgiving and may we all gain that freedom.

Thinkers50. I know several people on this years list and they deserve recognition. However I’m wondering why there is practically no one outside of North America and Europe? Is that geographical scope part of the strategy of the selection process? @thinkers50.com

[To be clear, I also love and am extremely proud that HOW INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS gets shelved alongside books in so many fields that are nominally distinct but which are actually,of course, relevant and connected.]

I discovered early that it’s usually impossible for me to even find HOW INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS in a store without help, so there is zero secrecy and many delightful conversations with booksellers — every part of the interaction is lovely, and leaving them with signed books is such a win for everyone.

Imagine graduating into this jobs market, where suddenly, the entry-level jobs market is 11%-55% smaller depending on the job. Now imagine that you're starting college right now. What is the jobs market going to look like in 2029? No one knows for sure.

What AI Should (and Shouldn’t) Do
What AI Should (and Shouldn’t) Do YouTube video by Imaginize World

Janka Krings-Klebe explores how to lead in the AI era.
She makes critical distinctions between AI and human decisions. If more people understood this, they would not be so afraid of AI! (That's my comment, not Janka's!)
