I love it. The plots are like whatever but the special effects are the grossest effects in any movie I've ever seen. Also some of the best I've ever seen. It's a real achievement.

my idea for Evil Dead is that they should do AoD style movies, set during different time periods, like Predator has done with the last 3 movies. The Evil Dead is risen and there is An Idiot who has to fight them. Lots of period costumes and sets and practical gore. And HUMOR.

I was very disappointed in rise and I think this is going to disappoint me in the same ways. It's not evil dead without the humor.

Evil Dead should be anything but subtle though

To those who will say "but Evil Dead 2013 isn't funny", I say:
1. It makes up for the lack of looney-tunes style humor by being brutal as hell.
2. It's actually fucking hilarious.

I'm really NOT looking forward to the new one. Rise was really disappointing. It didn't get nearly zany enough. It ALMOST did with the eyeball scene but that was it. Evil Dead needs to be more unhinged and it needs to be funny.

I rewatched the Evil Dead trilogy recently and Army of Darkness is for sure my favorite. I used to think it was the weakest of the bunch, wtf was wrong with me? There are SO MANY SKELETONS! It ruuuules!

I had a dream where I met Paul F. Tompkins. He was wearing a straw carnival barker hat, and for some reason the first thing that came to mind to say was "Nice hat, Mr. Tompkins." He took off the hat, and crushed it against a brick wall. Then he tore it apart. We both laughed.
