The argument is the same as:
"Making sailors run the PRT shows we don't trust them to stay physically fit.
Also, we don't have time to do the PRT because we are too busy prepping for war.
Also, performance enhancing drugs enhances performance, so what if sailors violate the UCMJ to get swole."
We're doing a Siege of Alesia style 'wall around the wall'... but at sea.
The escalation ladder of professional discourtesy. Embarrass yourself, your office, your service, and your oath on social media in engagements with:
1. General officers
2. Elected officials
3. The pope
This is unacceptable among our officer corps.
Thanks, Will! I appreciate the kind words. 📚

"By planning for challenges in a war with China similar to those it faced in the war with Japan, the Marine Corps will be postured to fight not just in the war’s opening phases, but also through the war’s end." #WriteFightWin

In the latest episode of @cimsec.bsky.social 'Sea Control', I host T.H. Schee to discuss civil defense in #Taiwan. Give it a listen at the link below. #LearnFightWin

An epically furious own goal.
Military historians after realizing that Operation Epic Fury (OEF) has the same acronym as Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF):
We sign up to defend our country. But sometimes, our country demands we defend its jargon.

Oh no.
"I did not need additional instruction in tactics, the mechanics of military operations or further cultivation of the warrior ethos that years of military service had already instilled.
What I needed at that stage of my career was a broader perspective on strategy and leadership." #PME
Right. Lots of speculation on this site all week about what the Marine Expeditionary Units headed towards the Persian Gulf might do, most of it pretty unhinged, so this thread is MEU 101. I'll keep adding to it as necessary.
Hey I don't make the rules, I just help apply them when hilarity could ensue and when rare historical references could arise:
Since a MEF is a corps level HQ, and three corps comprise a field army, we should do this for our one shot to create a Marine Expeditionary Army.
The follow on interservice slap fighting would be legendary.
With all the goings on in #Iran, I'm looking to get my squadron smart on the threat and the theater.
What would you put on your Iran/CENTCOM reading list? Think across audiences, from company commanders to squad leaders, and across media - books, articles, videos, and podcasts. #ReadFightWin
It’s shameful and dangerous for the guy who wrote an article about military education to incite a mob to violence against @bradduplessis.bsky.social, @ryanevans.bsky.social, and @warontherocks.bsky.social for engaging its content. This is how republics die.
Hemispheric defense is failing:
It's in MCDP-1, look it up!

Repping #TeamTaiwan at the LA Galaxy game:
I was just disinvited from the Air War College where I’d been asked to lecture on my book, which is a history of U.S. civil-military relations.
Shameless plug. My @warontherocks.bsky.social debut is a rebuttal to Cynical Publius’ war college opinion piece. warontherocks.com/2026/03/mili...
