The other candidate has worked her way up from school board to city council to state legislature, and worked her butt off for a law degree. She wants to codify abortion rights in the state constitution.

Same with the governor candidates.

(As it turns out, I voted a straight female ticket.)

You do have to be able to convince voters. But you can't convince everyone.

I just filled in my primary ballot. There are two candidates for AG. A little research shows me one is a stealth Libertarian who wants to enforce abortion law harder, and crack down on ballot referenda. /1

You know who else famously used paid informants to infiltrate extremist groups?

The Justice Department.

Colleagues can't police their own if they don't know about what's wrong. Vetting should be happening by the voters, but getting an average American to pay attention to local politics is like pulling a hippo's teeth without a dart gun.

Hey Senator Collins remind me again what acid rain is and the impact it had on lakes in the northeast?

So, you're describing conservatives then. The only difference between a "normal" conservative and a Trumper is the Trumper is not afraid to be a racist in public.

Conservative apologia for hundreds of years has only consisted of "I deserve power and no one else does." Hence, they lie.

Christian Nationalist troll Mike Huckabee excusing the IDF smashing a statue of Jesus shows how much this odious Baptist pastor places political opportunism above his so-called "faith." He, like his dreadful, mean, lying daughter, is a HORRIBLE person.

Well, I suppose it's a good thing that so-called AI makes crap up (like atheism is a religion). As for explanatory power, Christianity, Hinduism, and Islam literally require faith.

We humans are hardwired to look for meaning in patterns, a phenomenon called apophenia. When we see perfect symmetry, our brains immediately demand an explanation, which makes an otherwise mundane item feel like a message or a signal, however, because it is perfectly centered, the likelihood of this being a random drop is extremely low. It suggests human intervention.

I think theyre worried its like a subtle mark that a robber would use to signal rob this one or something

Exactly. That's the point I was trying to make at the end I apologise if I didn't word it properly, it's the intent. While our brains love to find patterns, the way that thing is placed feels way too deliberate to be a coincidence. It definitely crosses the line from seeing a random pattern to someone putting this here for a reason, if I was the op I'd definitely set up some CCTV for peace of mind!

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is preparing banks to collect citizenship data Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the Trump administration expects banks to comply in collecting citizenship information from customers.

Major alarm bells over this. Bessent wants US banks to require customers send in copies of their passports etc. to prove citizenship, which would be far beyond the know-your-customer checks that they're required to do already. Implies this could result in closing bank accounts over non-compliance.

The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.

It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.

I really want to purchase the tote bag. However, using Shopify requires a mobile telephone. It will not accept landlines. (I've run into this before.) We do not have cell service where I live. I'm not sure if my order went through or not.
