Congrats to all the nominated podcasts! I listen to several of these. I’m biased though so I’ll be voting @decisionspace.bsky.social !

I also played Indonesia this week! The game is a breeze to teach and has yet to disappoint with my group. I just can’t get enough of it.
Teaser for my new card game with @scorpionmasque.bsky.social, @wellmaus.bsky.social, and Christian Kudahl.
(This is the one where every card is procedurally generated!)

Victor AKA Himalaya crushed his enemies with Original Story by @stonemaiergames.com tonight.
Indonesia just keep delivering. My third play on the table this year.
There are a few Supreme Court decisions that lay the groundwork for (rightfully) equating trans discrimination to sex discrimination. We just need it codified in law so we don't have to rely on interpretations from judges that could change when new people are on the bench (see our current SCOTUS).
I'm hoping to try this at HistCon North!
I tried to keep it less of an exhaustive rules explanation and more of a vibesy discussion of what it is like to play!
Also this one is worth checking out on Youtube if nothing else because we have a puppet participant!

Today on @decisionspace.bsky.social I'm joined by famous muppet Analog Arnie for a deep dive of the Arcs campaign expansion! I'm a huge fan of the game and this conversation was an absolute joy to record!

I don’t think I’ve thought about a game as much or often since my first play as Molly House. A sensational experience that communicated its themes (in the literary sense) with a deft hand. Also, one of the few games to deal with sex and desire in a way that is mature and isn’t leering or boorish.
Congrats Jon!
Hell yeah! Excited to listen!
Woke up and found that I accidentally clicked post instead of schedule when I finished editing the next episode of @decisionspace.bsky.social … dang.
I took it down but so if you didn’t catch the preview due to my mistake, you’ll get it at the regular time this week.
This would’ve a great historical themed game for Wehrlegig! Obviously a well researched exploration of antiquated communication logistics!
(also if folks want to throw Origin Story or No Loose Ends a Golden Geek bone I wouldn't be upset about it...)
If you want to hear some of my favorites from my time on the show I recommend the one on expression, our Root 2 part deep dive, and the one on board game junk food. Also the deckbuilding 101 and 201 and the recent one on area control are great.
I've been a STS2 monogamist but that is on my list.
I know that what we do is incredibly niche but it has made me a more thoughtful gamer and designer to participate in these discussions.
I was a fan of the podcast before I became a host last January. The show felt educational but at the same time was one of the more entertaining "inside baseball" board game media out there.
Jake and Brendan started Decision Space with two types of episodes at their core:
1. Deep dives on games that provide a level of analysis that can only come from many repeat plays
2. "What we talk about" discussions on board game terminology and mechanisms.
Most podcasts in my feed (which I do love) are either quick takes on recent plays or designer interviews. These are fun listens, but we try to go both deeper and broader than most shows.
In all honestly, we've worked very hard to maintain a high level of quality on a weekly basis. Jake and Brendan started this ambitious project with the goal of bringing something different to the board game podcast scene.
For your consideration:
@decisionspace.bsky.social for podcast of the year

"It felt like a cheat code" is basically the design philosophy of good roguelites, right?
It is soooooooooo fun. I've become a Regent/Defect addict.
My goodness this is a pretty game.
If nothing else, we throw down with as many of these as possible at MN Hist Con!
The idea that @jasondcmatthews.bsky.social is going to give me the opportunity to play out an alt history of the constitutional convention is just too exciting to pass up.
These all look excellent!
