Darkroom print.

Darkroom print.

Haven’t printed in a darkroom in decades but finally did in our very own space. So fun and I can see myself spending hours in there. Just need some tweaking here and there but off to a good start.

To this day I still listen to them. So great and makes me not miss KCRW as much (yeah I know it’s online)

Once a day? I’m getting bombarded with spam from so many sources I ignore them all. Considered yourself lucky. How are things with you my friend?

Scientific research didn’t need to verify the obvious.

I thought you were referencing the New Orleans street car photo on the post as I did a research paper on that photo back in my Art History days. Made me do a double take. 😁

Darkroom enlargers

Darkroom enlargers

Darkroom coming along. Sink is done, light proofing the room is almost done but still need to install vent/fan. Enlarger setup done and picked up a Rolleimat in great condition along with the Omega that needs a good cleaning.

I guess the draw is they want you to become members to make it worth it. Difficult because they don’t get entire funding from County.

……and don’t get me started on the entrance fee. As a former employee of LACMA I feel betrayed each time I visit.

9 months ago 1 0 1 0

Oh man. LACMA has a special place in my ā¤ļø. I guess it’s best to see the space but that description of ā€œnon-hierarchicalā€ is not a good start if you’re there to see the ART. I feel for the art installers who now have to figure out how to make the space functional instead of some architects ā€œvisionā€.

Custom made darkroom sink.

Can’t wait to finally get a darkroom in our basement. Custom made sink on way. Still a long way to go but it’s game on!

Agree with these steps. Organize organize organize which is why my website hasn’t been updated in over a decade.

Alameda in the fog, c2005 with my Canon 20D.

Trying to gather the energy to update my website (alapan.com). Back in the blogging days I posted often for self motivation. It uses Wordpress so I’ll just add a simple theme with galleries. Wish me luck. Here’s the very first photo I posted from 2005, ironically from Alameda where I now live.

@hoodslam.bsky.social

In these crazy times, sometimes you just need to see a man dressed as cereal pour cereal onto a prone opponent in a wrestling match while the crowd shouts ā€˜this is real’ over and over. Hoodslam, Oakland

Nick Lawrence Berkeley CA Fine Art Photographer Nick Lawrence is a documentary and fine art photographer living in Berkeley CA. His web site spans the period from his civil rights photographs to his recent work.

Sharing info about a 88 yr old Berkeley photographer I met as I had my Rolleiflex around my neck.

Nick Lawrence photographed New York's Lower East Side & also Fayette County Tennessee in the 60's. Incredible work similar to the style of Lange and Mary Ellen Mark.

If you're into film based photography and haven't checked out www.thedarkroomrumour.com then it's worth doing the free trial at least. I found some good docs on there šŸ‘

I was getting some empanadas at the SF Ferry building and noticed a Fuji Instax photo just sitting there. Me being me I grabbed it. Not sure if it was left on purpose but it’s pretty cool-so tired to recreate it.
