I wasn't thinking hereditary - when one is teaching another about arcane practice, they can have them store a spell as a kind of middle-ground.
Opportunity for things to go amiss? YES. Totally.
Red Wizards of Thay storing spells in their non-casting guards in ways that aren't humane? Totally.
Yes! In their bellies and in their homes.
And of course storing spells changes you.
Spells, scrolls and wands are still of us because some spells folks don't want in their person.
