i had to suffer thru CMT, 80's Grand ol Opry and assorted New Country nonsense as a kid too.
so eventually i came around to the classics like Ernest Tubb and Hank Sr, before digging on some newer outlaws like Wayne Hancock and Hank III. Chappell does a good take. Orville Peck is a gift too.

that is phenomenal. still boggles my mind that all these tremendous talents shared space and worked side by side at redefining what comics art could be.
other than the EC staff of the 50's there isn't anything comparable.
