how is this literally happening in real life

in general, & across the world, the political gender divide really opens up around 2016
wonder if something happened then?
In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.
thank you, wife
Regular-stuf oreos are so puritanical
The average person doesn’t give a fuck if AI has some niche use where it actually excels if used properly. In fact, that is what a tool is *supposed* to do and none of us will have a problem if it is used like that. What we see is AI fucking up real life in a massive way.
Larry Ellison’s TikTok forcing “AI Remixing” onto their entire user base without their knowledge or consent is a really great microcosm of what US tech overlordship looks like — and why the backlash against this technology is only growing.
A Forbes article about a father who killed eight children, with an embedded prediction widget inviting people to speculate on whether "Congress will pass new gun safety legislation before 31st December 2026"
ghoulish
Forbes is gamifying news about the horrific mass shooting in Shreveport, LA this weekend, encouraging readers to bet on the likelihood of gun regulation with fake money via its "ForbesPredict" feature.
Eight children were murdered in the shooting.

To the driver of the car with the vanity plate “boys1ut”: first of all, icon, also how did you get away with this
My latest.
I’ve been watching the media coverage of the murders of Dr. Cerina Fairfax and Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer.
One way media can fight back against male violence:
If you kill your wife, you don’t get to be called a “husband” any more.
You’re her killer.

Oregon man accused of violations at Yellowstone argues park rules are unconstitutional A view of the autumn scenery at the Yellowstone National Park on Sept. 30, 2025, in Wyoming. (Photo by IRYU/VCG via Getty Images) VCG via Getty Images Joel Odom The Oregonian/OregonLive
Pulliam's legal team, which includes the libertarian Pacific Legal Foundation, this week filed a motion to dismiss the charges in U.S. District Court in Wyoming. The motion argues that the park rules Pulliam is accused of breaking are invalid because their implementation did not follow procedures set forth in the U.S Constitution and they were implemented under the wrong statute. "The way that we see this case is that the government is the one acting unlawfully here," said Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Michael Poon. "It's the one acting unconstitutionally, and all we're doing is pointing that out.
During a trip to Yellowstone in December, Tate Pulliam was stopped and cited by a park ranger for three alleged violations: fishing in a river that was closed for the winter, fishing without a proper permit and driving his truck on a road reserved only for "over-snow" vehicles such as snowmobiles.
Pulliam's motion argues that Yellowstone's superintendent could not lawfully impose the fishing restrictions or permit requirements because he was hired as an employee instead of being appointed as an officer under the Appointments Clause of the Constitution. The motion also says the regulations are unlawful because they were implemented under the Secretary of the Interior rather than through Congress. The Pacific Legal Foundation's stance is that the Constitution clearly lays out that Congress makes the laws and cannot hand over that power.
These dinguses.

Famously vengeful Knicks owner Jim Dolan has long spied on people at his iconic arenas. WIRED goes deep inside the operation that allegedly tracked a trans woman, lawyers, protesters, and more. www.wired.com/story/madiso...
And by ‘traditional wives’ we mean women who are culturally or economically forced into submission and/or just straight up children. Just bros bein bros amirite
“Maoist China experienced the most rapid sustained increase in life expectancy of any population in documented global history “
for an idea of how big a deal this is, my mom was in great shape when she got diagnosed and she lasted less than sixty days. six years is insane.
Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
Internet in Australia is rapidly becoming unusable without a VPN due to age verification. You need to verify your age to use some weather and calculator apps now. Scam apps and phishing sites are starting to realise they can just ask for your ID straight up and people will give it up. Insane shit.
Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

the thing about our current moment is that yes, the anti-AI and anti-big tech people are getting very reactive nowadays - but have you seen what they’re *reacting* to?
When I teach high school students about searching online, I have a whole section on avoiding news aggregators, esp AI ones. It's a massive problem.
At a time when mass surveillance and autonomous weapons companies like Palantir are openly announcing their plans for violent world domination, it is crucial that our attempts at “big tech reform” don’t actually give them more power—ie via government mandated age verification/identity software
Right now where you live healthcare for trans kids is either being made literally illegal by your state or made functionally illegal by the unlawful threats of the federal government and a care infrastructure glad to sacrifice trans kids on the altar of appeasement.

Your regular reminder that Palantir started out by testing their software on escort ads to rat sex workers out to the cops. But everybody was fine with it because it fed their disgusting wanking fantasies of screaming 13-year-olds abducted from happy homes to be trucked around and raped 100x a day.
incredible that the lifelong Catholic in this specific situation is The Pope
if only someone could have warned us of exactly this
