Are they on target for net migration in summer 2026, potentially reaching between 70,000 and 170,000 for the year, or even lower? Some projections suggest that net migration could fall below 100,000, reaching the lowest levels since the 1990s.

I still believe, as I always have, that Starmer won’t lead Labour into the next election. This episode is unlikely to result in his resignation; the big issue remains the May local elections. Who do you think will replace him, and will it be dam the red lines full speed ahead to the single market?
@mrjamesob.bsky.social not sure you have listened to this.
Robbins didn’t keep a record of events, to support his narrative.

Hillary Clinton predicted this.
That has always been the plan since 4 July 2024. They knew the May 2026 elections were always going to be bad back then; the question was always how bad.
Interesting he kept no records or diary to support his claims. Rather basic senior management objective given his position.
Perhaps this explains the significant labour loss in the IT industry, nothing to do with AI. Their method of communicating the complexity of sophisticated algorithms to the public is simply too difficult. Demand is critically declining.
He’s not wrong
So he blames Downing Street, and Downing Street blames him. Talk about passing the accountability book. He’s accountable as head of the Foreign Office civil service for ensuring the checks were done; had he done so, he wouldn’t have been fired.
So basically he’s trying to put his own accountability onto the cabinet office in true Sir Humphrey style.
As Sir John Curtice explained yesterday, the majority of the electorate aren’t interested. This is the Westminster bubble and Mr Ferrari’s leading Conservative media are getting worked up about something irrelevant for a third time, having failed twice before.

The political editor of the Times has been saying Starmer would resign for over the last ten months over one thing or another, to the point it’s embarrassing. He likes the grand old Duke of York marching his readers up the hill every month, then down again.
Could get interesting on Wednesday.
The media is backtracking, much like the Conservatives. A Liberal Democrat MP posed an interesting question: are there any other cases where the Prime Minister agreed to provide answers? This could be embarrassing for the last Conservative government, given their attitude towards similar processes.

That was the process, mad yes but that was the process.
Irrelevant to the situation hearsay with no evidence.
That’s the Civil Service and Conservative Party’s defence for the Munich Agreement after the event.
Trumpism.
Living in his own personal reality.
Excellent point.
Wasn’t that how it used to be?
John, your right-wing backlash against Starmer for his removal over Mandelson hasn’t been thought through. Whoever replaces him will eliminate those EU red lines to align with the single market. This will prompt Labour, Liberal Democrats, and the Greens to seek rejoining.
Brilliant actor.
