You could say the same thing about Obama protecting what Clinton delivered. I prefer to look at what are the broad societal outcomes because times change.

Women in Israel are still soldiers and children were not killed on purpose. If they were you would never hear the end of it. They had to make up a story about 40 beheaded babies instead. Nobody buys it anymore.

Somehow?

Nothing worth doing is.

No they didn't. This was substantially less than Obama ran on and delivered. But we were expected to go along with it because he was supposed to be the most electable candidate.

That doesn't mean there aren't other better picks. The issue is more that the presidential nominee is picked in backrooms to such an extent they didn't even bother with primaries in 2024 in several states and the delegates just gave the nomination to Kamala Harris despite the protest votes.

Neither am I. It's Third Way and No Labels types who are trying to cut the left flank out of the party. That's why taking down Hasan Piker is the top priority of the party right now.

"You ain't Black" huh?

Black people are not a monolith. But yes on average they DO favor Democratic establishment politics and therefore candidates like Clinton and Biden.

We shouldn't ignore them, but we should recognize it wasn't enough to even hold his 2020 coalition together.

I don't think that's true. I think that's a convenient excuse that the party establishment uses to never have to make any concessions to their voters.

Yeah the problem is the system is designed to push things on us not the other way around. We are starting to see insurgencies against the party establishment in local elections and even for federal representatives and now even senators with candidates like Abdul El-Sayyed.

He's the old racist white guy that Obama chose to make white people less scared.

Every little bit does count. But it's important to not lose sight of the forest for the trees. If you look at the big picture democratic backsliding, wealth inequality, militarism, and police brutality are getting continually worse. Marginal reforms are failing to address root causes of issues.

In his 2020 campaign yes. But in office he shifted to the right, especially on immigration and foreign policy. He outright adopted the Republican framing of immigration as a national security threat when he ran in 2020 on humane treatment of immigrants. Harris ran to the right of Biden in 2024

A prescription price cap is very watered down from what people have actually wanted for a very long time. Obama at least lied to us in 2008 and said he would do universal healthcare. The corporate minimum tax and IRS enforcement have not even put a dent in soaring wealth inequality.

Hard to credit his green energy approach which was more of a day late dollar short approach to challenging Chinese energy dominance and came alongside tariffs on cheap Chinese solar panels, EVs and batteries. We should be trading with China. Biden didn't make loan forgiveness part of BBB so it died.

Democrats banned UNWRA, increased the funding of ICE, collaborated in and normalized a genocide, all while working Americans at home suffered.

October 7th was not an attack, it was defense. Israel is illegally occupying Palestine, illegally implemented a system of apartheid, and illegally invaded the West Bank at the end of 2022. All of these are considered acts of war against a state which has the right to defend itself.

They were being attacked under Biden. The only thing that has changed is the US is led by an idiot now. www.commondreams.org/news/israel-...

He's doing the same evil shit as Biden, but with less competence. Now Iran is winning. Which is a good thing.

Biden oversaw the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich until the Trump tariffs, told poor people to get back to work in the middle of COVID, and helped Israel carry out a genocide and start WWIII. Aside from NLRB its hard to think of a single progressive thing he did.

Not really. You serve on average a cumulative 20 days in prison if you refuse service. Which is less time than you would have to spend in the IDF. Serving in the IDF is choosing cruelty.
