Our hope: that these ideas help shape debates at Encuentro+B Amazônia and #COP30 in Belém—so the Declaration becomes not just words, but a turning point for Amazonia and for all of us.

We illustrate this with the Putumayo Trinational Corridor (Colombia, Ecuador & Peru). There, structured decision-making helped align shared goals and coordinate transboundary actions to conserve biodiversity while strengthening local communities.

We propose a collaborative blueprint: structured decision-making. It means setting clear goals, weighing trade-offs, & co-designing solutions that honor both biodiversity and people’s livelihoods.

But ambition needs clarity. Without coordinated action, deforestation, mining & climate change will keep eroding the Amazon’s resilience. A patchwork of efforts won’t be enough.
