I’m grateful that the TP estate & crew got us an ending. I know some think it’s more than we deserve & that GO should have been cancelled outright. But as a lonely queer woman who found the GO community at the right time, it will always be meaningful to me.

And I just wish things were different.

Judging by the tone of the crew’s commentary (and so many of their posts have been taken down), it wouldn’t surprise me if they’re frustrated about being gagged like this too. Some level of discretion is normal but they seem to be on a very tight leash. It makes sense, but it sucks.

I will never stop being angry at that man.

It’s incredibly frustrating. I understand why it’s happening, but it doesn’t mean it’s not frustrating.

The crew managed to pull a finale out of this mess and have clearly been severely limited in what they’re allowed to say about it. Which would make sense if Amazon actually had a robust marketing campaign in place. Instead they toss out haphazard scraps and refuse to capitalize on word of mouth.

NG banked his previous reputation on the goodwill of his collaborators. I feel for the TP estate, who seem to cherish Good Omens as part of Terry’s legacy. I especially feel for GO’s working crew who have been jerked around so much by higher powers as GO has been killed & then feebly resuscitated.

Good Omens has been successful but it hasn’t raked in the cash of the HP IP (it also embraces queerness —such a pesky thing in this MAGA era!). I guess Amazon execs figure it’s better to cut their losses and let this little queer cult classic fade away to avoid embarrassment.

But make no mistake: this is a marketing decision, not Amazon acting out of the goodness of their hearts or concern for SA survivors. This is AMAZON. After all, they’ll still happily sink millions into an all-star-cast wizard boy audiobook series, despite pushback.
