Some of both, I think.

That’s very sad. There is going to be a lot of this in coming years based on demographic trends.
You have excellent taste in music.
Their favorite Leonard Cohen songs.
ChatGPT strikes again!
Also good that they gave Ani kudos. As a fan of piano-playing singer-songwriters I have to give Carole King a lot of credit for her role in establishing that sub-genre. She wasn’t alone, but her impact made it easier for others to follow.
There’s only room for one drama queen in the admin.
I have a feeling that he’s going to degrade Iran’s capabilities enough that it won’t be a problem for a couple of years, declare victory, and walk away à la Venezuela, reaping full credit and leaving the mess for those who come later. He’s not going to go all in like Bush in Iraq.
I lived that. There was an antiwar movement earlier, but Kent State was huge in terms of bringing disengaged people along.
Also, “occasional” does not accurately characterize these “moderate” Democrats’ histories of voting for Republican legislation. They are serial turncoats as a group.
It depends on who your rep is. They only care about voters in their own districts, if they care about any voters at all. Mine happens to be one of the seven, and she will be the major target of my persuasion, not some Republican in another district.
I generally find your posts helpful but I think you made a wrong turn on this one. The counter arguments are in others’ replies and I don’t see a need to reiterate them.
Reading this thread seems so familiar. My rep is Laura Gillen and it’s the same story, except that NY-04 is a suburban true swing district so there’s less excuse. Her counterpart to the north, Tom Suozzi, is on all those lists too.
Why do you think it would matter? His followers say, “He says what I’m thinking.” They are referring to this spew, not something else. Be very afraid.

How does it feel to sell your soul and then get tossed under the bus? No sympathy. And no loss.
Let’s see if we can both-sides a murder by throwing a lot of words at it.
2025 has been a nasty year on the whole. I’m sorry about how it impacted you.
I hope you can, in better times.
I have a short Marmot parka that makes me look approximately spherical and I don’t care; it’s warm.
And it was more than another 20 years before we figured out how to clone and manipulate genes. 1970s.
Safe travels, Karen. May the road rise to meet you.
Nice list. I will not admit that it is Christmastime each year until I hear Christmas Wrapping in the wild. But equally essential to me are Fairytale of New York by the Pogues with Kirsty MacColl and Merry Christmas from the Family (live version, please) by Robert Earl Keen.
In the same way, insurance companies don’t underwrite based on climate change denialism. The DOD also used to plan for climate impacts, because national security used to be a serious concern, like money. No more.
The disconnect between the WSJ’s news coverage and its editorial page has been profound for years, and I always assumed this was the reason.
I’m so sorry, Karen.
CBS and X. Made for each other.
Looks like world’s first emoji.
Spartan here, but I spent a bunch of time in A2 (who didn’t?) and will admit to a soft spot for the Wolverines.
The headline language says it all. They are on board.
