Not to be smug or cynical or whatever, but I’m low key happy to see more people shifting their interest from huge furry cons to other things. Cons have felt like a manic number-go-up race to me for a while.

My best con memories are from cons where attendance is measured in hundreds, not thousands.

I remember attending the last FAU in 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Dulles in Herndon, Virginia, and having such a wonderful, memorable time. There were probably only about 600 attendees, which made the experience even more special. I have genuinely fond memories connected to smaller conventions 100%
