Thrilled to have been awarded a @leverhulme.bsky.social grant to explore what makes the second generation feel valued and included in the workplace. The project brings 'worth' to the centre of integration and compares children of European and non-European migrants in the UK. 3y postdoc coming soon!
📢The Spanish government has opened the call for 494 Ramón y Cajal 5-year postdoctoral fellowships, open to people anywhere with PhDs between Jan 1 2014 & Dec 31 2022. They need to apply with a research group. We'd love to host someone interested in networks & social cohesion/inclusion/polarization.
there is no empirical relationship between a teacher's accent and their ability to teach. but there is a long-standing ideological relationship which frames non-dominant and non-standardised accents as signs of imagined pedagogical illegitimacy. @bjse.bsky.social www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
These writing-up grants are of huge value to recipients who are struggling to fund the last stages of a PhD. If you're eligible, do consider applying.
See the web pages of the IJURR Foundation (long supported by @sheffieldurbanism.bsky.social scholars!) for other fantastic opportunities too.
