Texas is investing in solutions to reduce the stray animal population. The Texas HHSC has opened applications for the Texas Spay and Neuter Pilot Program. Eligible organizations can receive reimbursement for completed spay and neuter surgeries.

The City of Houston is opening all 12 warming centers as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing with wind chills in the teens this weekend. Centers will be open from Friday at 5 PM through Sunday midday.
