Drivers waiting for pedestrians instead of pedestrians waiting for drivers? I still can’t believe it. I’ve been on this campus for fifteen years and I never experienced this until the planters went in.
Just saw an unmarked-but-obvious CPD SUV with nearly everything scraped off of the rear license plate. Like it was completely unreadable.
If we're allowing obvious, small-scale corruption like that, what's the extent of the less obvious, larger scale corruption?

Concrete islands create protection for a new bike lane. There is a traffic cone by a pile of gravel that I had to go around to use said lane — a few sections were still taped off. She’s a brand new babe!
For YEARS I’ve said that they should close one of the three (one-way) lanes of travel on Indiana to create a protected bike lane and they DID IT!!! From 55th all the way to 31st! I didn’t even know about this project so imagine my absolute delight stumbling across it today 😍

There are signs that while ICE is driving around, they may be scouting out homes where they see any signs laborers are present. If you have people working for you, whether it’s roofers, painters, landscapers, carpenters, whatever, you should have a plan to protect them if ICE shows up.
It’s crazy to think that for the first 16 years of my life I was completely dependent on my parents to go anywhere beyond my neighborhood. When I have kids, I don’t want to be responsible for that, for that long. Kids should have more independence.
We just drove by an accident where every air bag went off including on the sides and the back and side of the car were basically obliterated and it looks like everyone walked away

In turn, car tires have metal wires (“belts”) that they shed pieces of when they become very worn. They will give you flats on *your* bike, and you can’t avoid running them over because they’re too small to see.
I wish riding my bike could be boring, rather than a reminder of car-centric design!

i have been saying that "school choice" is not an actual choice without robust public transportation infrastructure. by normalizing caregiver transport, we have devalued school transit, so this seems like an unsurprising consequence of our disinvestment in educational access.
