Dr. Arora's research spans meditation, stress physiology, brain–body interactions, and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Kamble's research focuses on reading, cognition, and inclusive education for deaf individuals.
Congratulations to Dr. Palkin Arora and Dr. Veena Kamble, Postdoctoral Fellows at IIT Gandhinagar working with Prof. Vaibhav Tripathi, on receiving the India RISE Fellowship, a one-year leadership and research program for Indian women in STEMM.
We thank Malav Shah for an insightful seminar and for introducing us to this unique and rigorous area of neurobiological research.
Key findings presented included the dominance of trunk-related tactile pathways, larger overall brain and grey matter volumes in Asian elephants despite smaller body size, relatively larger cerebella in African elephants, and evidence of marked postnatal brain growth.
We hosted a talk by Malav Shah (PhD Candidate, Humboldt University, Berlin) on the comparative neurobiology of Asian and African elephants, with a focus on the elephant trunk and tactile processing.

✨ ACCS 2025 | Student Research Contributions ✨
Students from the Dept. of Cognitive and Brain Sciences, IIT Gandhinagar participated in ACCS 2025 with oral talks and poster presentations. The research spanned perception, motor learning, attention, language, and neural signal analysis.
The conference provided an excellent platform for idea exchange and scientific discussions. We look forward to strengthening these interactions and continuing this momentum in the coming years.
