(Spoiler) Roe v. Wade: How We Got to This Point Talk about timing—Just as I complete a historiography of how we got where we are over Roe v. Wade, someone leaks a draft of the upcoming decision overruling it. Read the whole story here.

I can't believe it, but Trump was right on this:

Constitutional scholars at the time, left and right, overwhelmingly thought Roe v. Wade was godawful. Even RBG said it was a mistake.

137. Death of a Civilization How the Bronze Age Collapse destroyed Mycenaean civilization, and plunged Athens into a dark age that lasted 500 years.

New post: lawcomic.net/guide/?p=10438 | In which the Bronze Age Collapse hits Athens just a little differently. (It's a long one.)

The Onion Is Sold by G/O Media The satirical news website was bought by a new firm in Chicago that took inspiration for its name, Global Tetrahedron, from a book written by The Onion’s staff.

NEWS: My friends and I now own and run The Onion. I’ll be the CEO.

We’re keeping the entire staff, bringing back The Onion News Network, and will share the wealth with staff. Basically, we’re going to let them do whatever they want.

Get excited.

Yall will never guess what actually happened here based on this headline.

He was texting and driving (to brag about arresting someone, btw) lost control of the car and drove into a river and killed not only himself but the person he arrested who was in the backseat.

It didn't collapse, it died of awkwardness. Without a ruling institution, everyone figured it had been someone else's turn to take out the garbage one day. Undone tasks piled on from there until the list was impossibly huge, and everyone just decided to drift away and never speak of it again.

When anyone tries to push Birds Aren't Real seriously, I just snatch their Chick-Fil-A out of their hands, take a big honkin' bite, and exclaim (with my mouth full) "I refute it thus!"

Why the Search for Dark Matter Depends on Ancient Shipwrecks Errant particles from everyday radioactive materials are a major obstacle for particle physicists. The solution? Lead from the bottom of the sea.

I know it's a cliche at this point, but I somehow am thinking about the Roman Empire.

Specifically how we harvest lead ballast from ancient Roman shipwrecks to shield extremely sensitive particle detectors because modern lead is still hot from the Atomic Bomb.

Very neat and tidy opinion from the D.C. Circuit. fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldoc... Whether the Supremes take it up is anyone's guess, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they denied cert.
