A monochrome drawing of Majima Goro from Yakuza 0 unwinding after work. He is shown in profile, leaning over an opened fridge, looking into it with a dissatisfied expression. He is wearing an opened suit jacket and dress shirt on his top half, and on his bottom half just boxer shorts. An undone bowtie and a hand towel are both slung around his neck. His hair is falling out of a ponytail, and his left hand is pressed against his temple and holding a lit cigarette.

The most important artistic advice I can impart on people is to stop saying self-depreciating things about your work when you show it to people. Break the habit, it’s not funny, it’s not cute, it’s impulsive self-harm we do to try to take away the power other people could have to bruise our egos.

i love the movie and agree totally. nobody comes out looking great, you're supposed to be slightly appalled by most of them while still finding it sweet, though mileage varies.
i have an odd relationship with the concept of romance so the messiness of humanity is a weird charm point for me.
but to someone who's only played the mainline games and Ishin it feels like the culmination of years of testing all kinds of wall spaghetti. i hope that even if Kiryu is permanently retired after Infinite Wealth they take this system into another real-time beat-em-up game 🙏🥺
ok gushing over
i'm aware that at least a small part of this is probably due to me gitting gud to some degree, and I haven't played the Judgement series but have been told the fighting felt great in the last one, so it's likely some of this isn't new to people who've played those,
my hugest beef with some past games is that some of the bosses felt like endurance tests of chipping health because I couldn't seem to build heat quickly enough or do significant damage without the use of weapon items (i had a huge issue with this in Ryuji Goda 1 in K2 and Okada Izo 3 in Ishin).
boss fights actually flow now and i think the boss parry mechanic is a great and wayyyy less frustrating evolution of the kiwami health regen. instead of stalling the fight it presents a risk/reward with the payoff being a huge chunk of damage (can you tell im a Soulsborne Enjoyer).
not to mention they've fixed the floatiness of past dragon engine combat and stuff feels like it has weight again. plus they've found a way to reconcile the fact that Y0 upgrade buy was the simplest method of doing the skill tree with the reality that Kiryu can't have that much money anymore.
it's insane the degree to which the fighting mechanics in RGG Gaiden feel the best of any in the series, especially on bosses. it's like after years of trying they've fine tuned the speed of heat buildup, blocking/dodging (yay dodgeroll), damage output and the amount of actions accessible to you.
A job ad saying "Join our team!" with a QR code. The website at the bottom appears to say blowjobs dot com. But it's actually BBW Jobs
this picture taught me the word "kerning"
also the aforementioned medieval monk! (and knight)
it was a visual vibe test for lettering, but in my heart there's also a larger plot
i feel so spoiled now, these are two of the only Godzillas i've ever seen (besides Godzilla versus Kong one very stoned night, which is something different entirely...) and I have no idea where to go from here
it was amazing! I've also had a hard time figuring which i'd put on top if I HAD to. the story in minus 1 was emotionally more resonant (i criedddd) but the stylistic direction in Shin blew my mind and gave Godzilla itself such pathos that i wanna say "excelled in different areas" and leave it lol
felt this way too! enjoyed it and will see it again bc my first watch was the dub, but it was a full bingo card of the things that tend to frustrate me about miyazaki's storytelling without the coherence of theme that usually leaves me with something to meditate on. a little bit wall spaghetti
, she's doing it for herself. i hate that it's become so acceptable again to joke about women's interests if the misogyny couched in the term "fujoshi" . not even gonna touch on how much of this is done by fellow LGBT people who should understand why exploring one's sexuality is a defiance of power.
i was happy to see this called out too. i'm a bi woman myself and I don't care whether or not a woman enjoying mlm ships is gay or straight. it doesn't matter! the fact that she finds something in there worth exploring is fascinating and beautiful to me. she's not doing anything "to" anyone (..)
the gradual replacement of “exchanging money for goods” with “exchanging money for a license to use goods as a service” has been one low key one of the worst changes of the 21st century

Digital drawing of Kiryu Kazuma and Majima Goro from the Yakuza game series on the beach in front of Morning Glory orphanage. Majima appears as his drag persona, Goromi, and is sitting on a beach towel in a blonde wig, sunhat and pink-striped bikini. Goromi is adjusting her sunglasses and smirking appreciatively at Kiryu, who is in the foreground with his back to "camera" and casting a flusterd and petulant expression over his shoulder. He is shirtless and his hair is wet.
i started this for Goromi week, finished 90% of it, forgot about it for a month and remembered it last night!
thankfully, every week is Goromi week around here P^]
ty Anna you just saved this HG lover 2-3 hours of their life.. i would have been unable to resist the pull
