As a Canadian I am curious how my followers in the USA are feeling about your President using economic force against Canada and Mexico. Does it feel really great to you?

Wilton's reads On the pages linked to this one there are dozens of book reviews.       To make finding what will interest you easier, I've given you two browsing pages  (the Book Shelves) -- one for fiction,...

Never in my life have a read a novel in which I so totally identified with the main character. Published in 1972, this book has the grace of being writerly written, a book about artistic integrity. Check out my review.

Blog - T Wilton Dale Welcome to the blog of T Wilton Dale, author of A Greater Good and An Incoming Tide.

We all strive for, and pride ourselves in, being objective. However our subjectivity can be full of wisdom and sensitivity. My blog for this month looks at this dualism from the perspective of being a reader and a psychotherapist.

So, an imagined conversation …
Musk: can you create a distraction for me so I can dismantle everything that stands in the way of our greed and lust for power?
Trump: Sure, I’ll gather all the reporters we allow in to talk about tariffs, and Gaza, and military force to get Greenland and Panama.

We finally know the game. It’s called “Who wants to be the 51st State?” So far we know of four contestants: Canada, Panama, Greenland and Gaza. Of course, all want to be kicked off the show before it even begins.

Apparently Trump thinks Canadians will have better health care if he annexes our country as a 51st state. We spend half as much per capita on healthcare but have a much longer life span. Universal healthcare works much more efficiently. No need to deflect $ to admin and profits.

Just what might be improbable about a psychiatrist? Setting aside the hackneyed jokes about crazy shrinks, can we think of them as people with their own struggles? Check out my review of this recently published memoir www.twiltondale.ca/wiltons-read.... #booksky, #Writing and Books.

Experience: I had a lobotomy There was nothing mentally wrong with me. I’ll never know for certain why they chose me for the procedure

Derek was a patient with me at High Royds Day Hospital in the 1970s when doctors subjected this kind man with a great sense of humour to appalling experimental brain surgery without his consent. OMG, none of us was safe in their hands! RIP Derek. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

I treat survivors of trauma, some of which is beyond imagining.

Let me be clear.

Gestures of oppression and hate are intended to instill fear and perpetuate the horrors tied to them. A gesture of hate is active participation in harm to other human beings. It is violence.

If a writer needs this advice, they have no legitimacy in writing.

So much hard work goes into the creative process… be that in the arts or in the endeavour of humanistic psychotherapy. I examine both in my most recent blog posting.

Who is going to supply the cheap labour American citizens are too proud to do?

<dons mathematician hat> Sufficiently complex processes will and do give rise to chaotic and unpredictable behaviors. Something as straightforward as a hand-cranked eggbeater will produce an effect so complex that the *exact* results are unpredictable.

Chaos theory is only about a half century old, but it is a good model for understanding how deterministic systems produce unpredictable outcomes. The idea that a complex but completely deterministic brain could produce imagination and creativity isn't far-fetched at all. It seems to be inevitable.

Listen, if they really cared about girl’s sports, they would make sure that girls have the same access as boys to funding. Or facilities. Or coaches. Or uniforms. Or bus budgets.

They don’t care about girl’s sports. They care about punching down on a minuscule number of trans athletes.

Alberta government axes funding for 3 disability advocacy groups | CBC News The Alberta government has cut funding to three self-advocacy groups for people with intellectual disabilities more than a year before the expiry of their contracts.

Disabled Albertans are no strangers to harm caused by shortsighted, incompetent UCP policy.

However, the cruelty in this case is jarring.

Total gov savings of $420k will harm hundreds of people with intellectual disabilities from Lethbridge, Calgary, Edmonton.

I hope all of you in the USA know that when Trump puts 25% tariff on Canadian crude oil that consumers at the gas pumps will be paying much more for fuel!

As Trump talks of economically destroying Canada and using military force against Mexico both countries send help to fight the fires in California.

Grocery prices will skyrocket with the tariffs and the deportation of workers willing to work for low wages in the food sector. It shouldn’t bother Trump or Musk though.
