Oh these links are perfect. I'm sitting here twiddling around with twine and looking for communities to dive into!
I'm stretching my creative muscles a little and writing some Choose Your Own Adventure/Solo TTRPG stuff. Maybe even some Interactive Fiction (with Twine)
Can anyone point me to any good blogs/books, or otherwise on these topics?
I'm meandering through the book, resisting the urge to read it front to back, just as requested. Thus far, it's been a delight.
I'm quietly (loudly?) becoming a fan of the new Kaleidoscope podcast.
@jon.inkle.co & @sagarberoshi.bsky.social in conversation with writers, just talking about narrative design. Getting geeky, but keeping it accessible.
A must listen for anyone writing any kind of interactive fiction.
further to this: thanks to a gap between projects, i can take on a pro-bono project now!
if you're a marginalised creator with a small project that you'd otherwise be unable to afford to get edited, hit me up. i'll do my normal line/copy editing passes to really polish it for you, at no charge.
That's an impressive track record. Do you all discuss and dissect the games? I feel like the taking of a game to bits feels really important to the process of learning.
Yes
If you're heading to #Conpulsion, we challenge you to find and take a picture with @brianbloodaxe.bsky.social.
If you do, tag us telling us how you'd survive the upcoming apocalypse and we'll send you something cool!
Have fun! Say something rude to @brianbloodaxe.bsky.social for me.
I need to find a game of Fallen London. I'm a huge fan of Alexis Kennedy and the Failbetter franchise.
I haven't read a lot of war games. I assume that what you're looking for there are novel combat mechanics?
It would make sense that they would take combat in general far more seriously than indie ttrpgs tend to.
What are you looking for when you go search out new games? Interesting premises? Hot takes? Or do you just like to sample every tiny horror system you can find?
Is that like, you go and find people to run systems for you?
Do you have a fantastic hub of indie GMs somewhere that you are hiding from us? Spill the beans.
Personally, I've skimmed the first dozen pages of dozens, bordering on hundreds of adventures, settings and systems. But I only really finish them if I intend to play them.
Hey, #TTRPG authors. How much time do you spend reading other games?
I've heard the full gammut: those who've read hundreds of games cover to cover and those who think it's a waste of time.
I collaborated with my friends at the @miskatonicplayhouse.com to make this thing. They are some of my favourite people on the internet and more of you should listen to them.

And... oh, it's pretty team. It's so very pretty...
Through a Lens is an oil on canvas painting by Ann-Sofie Hall. It looks sort of like a vortex in the middle of the stars leading beyond that which is perceived.
The last few bits of Weird art sneaking their way into the booklet now...
Kan jag byta däck än?
Snön är borta, men jag litar inte på våren.
I feel this.
Some folk are on here releasing something new every 3 months.
Meanwhile I’m still tinkering with the thing I released in Feb 2025.
With Vinted you generally go to one of those click and collect boxes appearing outside of all the supermarkets and put your stuff into them. So they're better for toys, books, and clothes. Not sure how a bike or drum set works.
Good luck!
I had a ton of success with Vinted when selling all sorts of random things before my move last year. Damn site easier and less sketchy than FB marketplace
We gave our wee website a touch up in the run up to the Kickstarter launch. Check it out and find out more about our cool little #ttrpg
embersofhumanity.pika.page
(Have we told you all how great Pika websites are? They're great!)
Can take or leave Shoreditch though
Congrats! You should totally send it over to the @miskatonicplayhouse.com or offer to run it for us.
We’re doing it fam! This time for real!
Embers of Humanity is coming to Kickstarter this summer:

With the main assumption being that it's just a different dice and different named skills. Yeah. This is probably where that urge is coming from.
Do you think it’s kind of like:
Ok I know which dice to roll and have the character sheet so I can probably just treat it like other games I know.
Or is it literally like: I’ll just read the book as I go?
Cause my money is on the first.
