For the second year in a row, the gender pay gap has widened.
Women working full-time, year-round, now earn 81 cents for every dollar men earn. That's down from 83 cents a year ago, and 84 cents the year prior.

When a fire broke out inside the factory, garment workers inside — mostly immigrant women and children — were unable to escape because their employer locked exit doors and stairwells to prevent them from taking unauthorized breaks. In less than fifteen minutes, 146 people died.
OPEIU honors the 146 workers who died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire on this day in 1911.
"To me, being in a union means having a voice, having each other’s backs and continuing a legacy of fighting for better conditions not just for myself, but for everyone who comes after me,” she said.
