She knows she deserved this, we love confident women

By "fucked up", I mean within 1949's limits: not disturbing in a modern sense, & also keeping a self-contained "logic". It's just a good ass movie w a lot of nuance & a million ways to interpret it. It's like its thriving off of each viewer's own biases & experiences. 11/10 recommend
One month later.. out of nowhere, someone out in the void must've been listening: 1949's The Heiress is now actually available to watch online.
Goddamn this film was so weirdly impossible to find. It's such a fucked up movie, its my favorite of all time, I will never stop my unrelenting praises.
My range is ~5 hrs on "extended release", which is.. I think, atypical for an extended release? Food also feels like it's a huge personal variable on my mood, but haven't tried enough "tests" to determine how it works. Is that something you go through too?
we did a new discovery: this lady just pressing random buttons on the lunar space station knew all about the "over a 100 years ago" Lunar Cry, when the menu says 80 yrs.
Turns out, beep beep lady was right, & someone in the localization decided to make up their own bullshit fanfic in the menu.
idk why it took until the end of disc 3 + about 150 hrs of gameplay to discover Ellone is running around in chanclas
+ bonus Seifer insults, basically: you look like shit, don't you ever shave??
i archived footage through "highlights", which was shortly abolished bc they decided they didn't like people archiving footage. fortunately, my entire playthrough is saved locally. i tried to find each instance where the game telegraphs this plotpoint, and yes, they exist but are very hard to find.
in 2024 I did the most ridiculous playthough of final fantasy 8 on twitch- pretty sure i clocked 260 hrs.
did you know that selphie made a late-90s geocities diary you can read @ the balamb classroom comp, which updates often, & she drops this BOMB OUT OF NOWHERE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR STUDIOUS NATURE
Brief Encounter is under 90 min, free on YT, & a goddamn masterpiece- I'm surprised it went as hard as it did during this rigidly-controlled, mandatory "moral era" of films.
It's surprisingly nuanced & actress Celia Johnson embodies real uncontrollable feelings which include incredible pain.
By coincidence, I saw both of these movies a day apart from each other. Carol (2015) isn't even subtle in this homage to Brief Encounter (1945)- even down to how both films structure it. I'm very surprised nobody's picked up on it enough for at least a wiki entry.
Correct!

If you also aren't familiar w her costar Montgomery Clift, you're in for a ride when you look him up
Olivia de Havilland was just over there running laps around the charisma & technical skill of her costars. She's a legend, & recently passed away at 104. It's rare I'd find a movie that makes me invent fanfiction in my head.
So uh check it out. Its hard to actually find, but.. there are ways.
I stumbled blindly into the 1949 movie The Heiress, & I cannot find the words to communicate how absolutely fucked the emotions it just unapologetically dumped into me.
Not because I'm unable, but due to respecting the restraint needed in order to reach at least one of you, out there in the void.
Idk how to use this site - @gamegrooves.com (now tagged) - thank you for kicking my ass & getting me through this personal, artistic challenge. I'll always have wonderful memories of Street Fighter 2 ... & it's deceptively intricate, fantastic OST.
Figuring out how to construct this idea - w/ mindful pacing - was a huge personal achievement, as well as a wonderful collaboration with Jaime on drums & percussion.
This is the least "heavy" amount of (solely elec) guitar I've ever recorded, & it was a challenge to not use it like a crutch.
The melody begged for a call/answer - w/ guitar SFX - & a slight push on the OST counter near the end.
Erratically move that cursor, land on some character & hop a plane
2 separate drum machines - & Jaime Watson's tight live drums helped me achieve a challenging interpretation of Street Fighter 2's Stage Select / VS - inspired by Legendary early-90s house dance-pop producer Shep Pettibone.
@gamegrooves got me through it:
