What you see is the creative work. 🎨📸
Cameras. Crafts. Workshops. Exhibitions. Young people creating and sharing their work.
But behind all of that is the infrastructure that keeps In Focus running...

This kind of support strengthens the foundations of our work and ensures we have the reliable equipment needed to keep everything running safely and consistently, so creativity can flourish.
Thank you, Compass Lexecon! 🙏 https://www.compasslexecon.com/
We were incredibly lucky to get introduced to Compass Lexecon who responded with extraordinary speed to our request for any laptops they no longer required.
These laptops mean all the fun creative stuff happens for more years to come! THANK YOU #compasslexecon
In 1996, an unlikely Cornish case secured a crucial workplace right for Trans+ people.
Here’s the story behind it 👇

“Rowling has made it abundantly clear that she thinks attacking transgender people via the legal system is a worthwhile cause and a good use of her vast personal fortune…there’s no way to watch this show without supporting Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting…”
12 YEARS SOBER
Stopping drinking didn’t fix everything, but it made life a lot easier.
It’s also 10 years since I put out the zine Last Orders: a zine about not drinking.
A zine with stories about how different people approach not drinking.
If you’d like a copy DM me I can post one to you.
W.I.P.
Zine that will be filled with prose of one kind and another alongside photos and maybe some drawings who knows…

Do you think the animal kingdom is so pure because it hasn’t been corrupted by money??
I love that a Capybara has been living its best life around Hampshire since it escaped the zoo.
I love all weird things Giles gets his guests to talk about on @101parttimejobspod.bsky.social and the reason he is able to do this is because he is genuinely a really nice chill person who has time for people.
Image shows a person with blonde hair tied up in a scarf with a pink and blue necklace that reads "I'm registered to vote". Text reads: Register to vote by 20 April. It's quick and easy. The electoral Commission.
Your vote really does matter.
Local elections are taking place in some parts of England on 7 May. Register before the deadline on 20 April: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
Make sure you've got an approved form of voter ID or register for a postal or proxy vote. www.transactual.org.uk/vote
Interesting read/response from @artscouncilengland.bsky.social and I welcome it. No one expects everything to change all at once but a timeline for change is helpful.
It’s good to see this.

Very happy that @infocuscio.bsky.social will be part of this celebration on the island!
Really pleased that @infocuscio.bsky.social is part of the #canyouhearus project on the Isle of Wight.
It’s great that @artscouncilengland.bsky.social have made this investment to create more/new opportunities for creative activity across the island.

“She’s the exception, I am the rule.”
Such articulate cutting through of the nonsense around puberty blockers and eg Keira Bell’s detransitioning from Stephanie Lynnette on GMB this morning. It is also a refreshing relief to see a trans person actually being allowed to speak for once!
If you are a politician and you think the votes of trans, non binary people and their ally’s don’t matter, think again.
When you legislate against us you reject not only our votes but our friends and families at the same time.
Be more Zack.

Yesterday was International Women's Day, it's an important time to reflect on how women have shaped our lives; how the feminine side we all possess can be embraced as we build a world which respects everyone; and the difficulties and violence women continue to face in the UK and globally.

I’m not convinced equitable funding is achievable. There are too many systemic inequities requiring nuances in the approach’s foundations take to their grants. There are also organisation categories that need changing eg. <1mill pa = a small organisation! I do believe things could be better though.
