This is the best way to play Fallout 3. It won't fix the bad writing or anything like that but the things that Fallout 3 does well, namely the setting and the atmosphere, all that gets enhanced with New Vegas' superior mechanics. An absolute must play experience.

I just do the full normal TTW install and fixes, then pick and choose from the Wasteland Survival Guide. Fixing conflicts isn't something I'm really good at yet so the guide is perfect for me!

I did the exact same thing last week, that guide really is awesome. I've used it about 5 times in the last year or two, it gets updated quite often. The LOD generation was added pretty recently I think, as was that and several other mods. Runs flawlessly

The Capital Wasteland modlist for Fallout 4 is very good! It did crash for me a lot though.

To be fair, this is running with about 225 mods lol so its not vanilla at all. But I agree. Vanilla fallout 3 is still gorgeous after 18 years

I actually did this like awhile ago

but I got it so that at the end of every level(barring the 4 major boss fights) that switches to a nighttime camp/rest where you get ambushed by the elf thieves like in the SEGA games
