For example, in January 2025 there were 58 incidents and in February 2025 there have been 9 so far. These figures for 2024 were 80 and 93; for 2023 89 and 81, etc. these numbers are showing a slight decline since 2007 but are fairly steady since 2017.
There have been a lot of plane crashes in the news lately, but the statistics show that itās not an unusually high number in 2025. When there is a commercial plane crash, we are attuned to other crashes, so it appears that thereās a pattern when thereās not. Data from the NTSB, link in comments.
