On 15 Apr A319 RA-73417 RSJ9617 an aircraft associated with the Chechen leader (warlord) Ramzan Kadyrov took off from Moscow (VKO) and likely flew to Groznyj (yellow dot). It flew to Moscow from Groznyj on 07 Apr. There are continuing concerns in Moscow about Kadyrov’s failing health.

I did some research on this (but not too much) and found out that the wife of the former Iranian President Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi (who died in a helicopter crash in 2024) flew to Colombo LKA and visited the Iran Cultural Center in Apr 2024.

On 14 Apr SFS A319 RA-73025 RSD9102 took off from Doha QAT and is en route back to Moscow (VKO) again staying well away from Iranian airspace. RSD9101/9102 have been used exclusively by this aircraft.

This is interesting: On 13 Apr Avikon Tsitotrans Il-76TD CANDID RA-76502 AZS4125 took off from Moscow (ZIA) and is en route to K-Grad (KGD). As this aircraft filed a flightplan and is squawking a Mode-3 NATO air policing will likely not fly out and take a look at it.

On 10 Apr FSB Border Guards Tu-154M CARELESS RA-85084 RSD970 flew from Moscow to Sochi, later taking off and flying south. Tracking ceased while it was at FLE340 south of Jeddah SAU. Possible destinations were Port Sudan or Khartoum (yellow dots) SDN, but it may have gone further.

On 12 Apr SFS Il-62M CLASSIC RA-86559 RFF8723 took off from Pyongyang PRK and flew back to Vladivostok. After a short stop it took off as RFF86274 and is likely en route back to Moscow. I am still curious about two quick successive trips by this aircraft to Pyongyang.

On the ground less than two hours, Mahan Airlines A340 EP-MMU IRM106 took off from Shanghai and is en route back to Tehran (IKA).

I think it likely that the CANDID came from Ivato International Airport, Antananarivo MDG as it fits the flight plan of Russian aircraft that have recently flown to/from MDG.

On 08 Apr VKS Il-76MD-90A CANDID RF-78666 RFF78667 took off from Moscow (CKL), flew south and was last tracked over southern RUS. On 11 Apr it was briefly tracked as it descended into Dar-es-Salaam TZA as RFF8737.

EP-MTC was active between 07 – 28 Mar but nothing since then.
