This comic spoke to me deeply and reminded me of a very similar experience after the death of my aunt who passed in the same way. This comic reminded me of the thoughts, the situations I had to deal with in the aftermath being raised in an extremely religious environment. (1

comic set in the apartment that team dark (Shadow, Rouge, Omega) "live" in. PANEL 1 - Rouge enters the kitchen, stretching. Shadow is at the stove with a pot. ROUGE: G'mornin. SHADOW: Morning. I'm making mac and cheese if you want some. ROUGE: Yeah, sure. PANEL 2 - Rouge scratches her ass because she genuinely has stopped giving a shit about her appearance around these freaks. She finally takes a second to look at what Shadow is actually doing at the stove. PANEL 3 - Rouge watches in surprise as Shadow dumps the powdered cheese packet into the pot of boiling water and pasta. PANEL 4 - Shadow dumps the rest of the cheese into the pot, starting to make a watery, cheesy mess. Rouge continues watching, now horrified. ROUGE (internal thought): Is he... putting the cheese in boiling water??
page 2 of the comic. PANEL 1 - Rouge stands next to Shadow, staring at the pot as he stirs it with a spoon. Shadow looks over at her. PANEL 2 - the two begin to argue in front of the stove. SHADOW: ...What? ROUGE: Why are you making it like that? SHADOW: Like what? ROUGE: Why did you put the cheese in the water? SHADOW: I always do that. PANEL 3 - Shadow continues to stir the pot as the two continue arguing. ROUGE: Shadow. You're supposed to ass the cheese AFTER THE NOODLES ARE COOKED. SHADOW: Why would I do that when I can just add it now? PANEL 4 - Rouge holds up the empty box that the mac and cheese came in. ROUGE: Because the directions are to make the cheese sauce AFTER THE PASTA. PANEL 5 - Shadow holds up his spoon and points it at the box, defensive. SHADOW: I'm not letting a piece of CARDBOARD tell me what to do.

Mac and cheess is just pasta, water, and CHEESE. Simple. PANEL 2 - Rouge gestures to the pot, leaning in to argue. ROUGE: You have so much water that you're just making SOUP!! Shadow leans in to argue as well, pointing his spoon at the pot. SHADOW: IT'S NOT WATERY AFTER I STRAIN IT The pot begins to boil over. PANEL 3 - The two scream at each other as the pot completely boils over, sizzling everywhere. ROUGE: WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CHEESE WHEN YOU STRAIN IT, SHADOW? SHADOW: THE PASTA ABSORBS IT BEFORE I STRAIN IT
