Minors aren’t allowed to ride Uber/Lyft without an accompanying adult. But the companies don’t tell the drivers because they want the money, and they’ll just let the drivers get busted if the authorities decide to do anything. Not a “super cool” fact. More of a PSA from a former driver

To-MAY-to, to-MO-ta.
Yes, that’s stupid. And yet it brings a smile to my face.
You did look pretty. But I also feel like if I was wherever you were tonight, I’d wonder why you kept staring at me.
Fun fact - I broke my femur when I was a kid. Still have the pin they put in my leg. So I could literally shiv you from my femur. But I wouldn’t. I’d smile and pretend I don’t recognize you.
Ha ha!!! No lie, I’m coming off a full psychedelic trip that I TOTALLY DID NOT PLAN TODAY! But once I realized what was happening, I went with it.
I often reflect when eating that this food died so that I may live. Even the vegetation. So I guess I think of that performance as dead, since it wasn’t enjoyed live. Yet, in its death, it’s become alive to me and allowing me to live. Yeah. Sounded better when I first thought of it.
Saw a kids science show and they were demonstrating how expectations affect things. Gave the kids ice cream cones with mashed potatoes made up to look like vanilla ice cream. Hilarious when they took a bite.
Message with a friend today.
That’s the part I had no idea of as a teen that I’ve learned about over the years. Always hope I don’t sound cringe like “look at me, white male helping woman and minorities!” But it is my visceral reaction to want to do something.
Of course, with your info today, I’m calling my two best female friends and bugging them to found a startup.
The good thing is, sometimes those stats can motivate a person. I remember when I was young (1980’s) and I first found out the black unemployment rate was 10-15% higher than whites. (I was ignorant of racism at the time). So I bugged my boss to hire more black people and he did!
Someday I’ll meet you at one of your shows. But I’ll oversell myself and instead of saying I’m Colombia*, I’ll tell you I’m Liam Nissan
Totally agree. Always say it’s excellent. The whole atonement angle fits with everything, only to find papal politics is as brutal as anything else. Love it. Fitting end to the story.
Guitar, bass, drums. After I’d played for a few years, I bought a left handed guitar to see what it would be like. Never felt right. I also bat right handed. But everything else left.
I didn’t know that about Ringo. I’m a lefty that plays music right handed too! And he’s my second favorite Beatle. That makes me happy to be in his company.
For some reason, we’re always lumped in with metal or alternative. Oh, well. That’s punk for ya.
A book about average people living under the Nazi regime
Hi Claire - I just read about this book and had to find this chat again. It’s about everyday people and how they negotiated life under the Nazis. It’s definitely on my list now!
I hope that changed for you. I get the outsider thing - I grew up JW. I didn’t know any Catholics growing up. But I’ve met a few since and they’ve been lovely people. (Same with Jews/Muslims, to be fair)
Excerpt from a Josh Marshall post comparing Trump’s political speech to his desire to sexually assault minors.
That whole statement after the colon! 😂😂 From @joshtpm.bsky.social

Which means some MAHA organization will fight it.
Are you trying to say that babies are incapable of swallowing a decent time release B complex vitamin?
I jest. This sounds like a good thing.
But think of the bright side - your ERA is still 0.00
I’ll admit to the earplugs at concerts, but that’s it. And to be fair, I should have done that back in the day, too. But I take all your other points!
That sounds familiar. I know a bit of history, but forgot twice what I know!
Yeah. I thought of them, but don’t know enough about how they were structured to talk about them!
I honestly don’t know. They had early forms well before independence. And I’d imagine by the time of the Reconstruction amendments, they had closer to modern versions. But I doubt they foresaw what we have today. IMHO
Well, it was judges I believe who decided corporations were people, something not even alluded to in the amendments.
Grew up in what I jokingly refer to as an apocalyptic religion. One that taught things would get worse before they got better. What I never knew was that they would also get so stupid.
Schrodingers Honey. Present and not present.
I so wish I could move there!
