A test in #UnrealEngine5 trying to figure out how to animate and render a 3D character to look like a normal sprite, and get rid of noise so it doesn't look messy as it moves.

It's still a test and I'm not exactly an animator. But I think it's really promising. :)

You guys asked for roundabouts in my #UnrealEngine5 traffic system. And so I had to deliver. Figured out a pretty simple system to allow for it. πŸ˜€

New video coming this Sunday! In the meantime get caught up with the playlist here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Coming this Sunday - 500 cars running in #UnrealEngine5 at 120+ fps using blueprints only! And I have improved even more things! :D

Technically this is a terrible example cause you shouldn't be loading cars that far away to begin with. And this isn't for a city sim type game, so.... :P

They'll definitely be driven along the splines generated by the PCG graph in a sense later on. Just not with state trees. πŸ˜…

I know most of you don't care about the #UnrealEngine5 BP traffic system I've been making. But I've been having a blast working on the system.

Sometimes you got to just do what you enjoy. πŸ˜…

Continuation of the traffic system next Sunday!

Next part of the of the #UnrealEngine5 blueprint traffic system coming Sunday! I've been setting up speed changes based on whether there's a slower car ahead of not. :)

Working with splines as well of course. πŸ˜‰

Get caught up with the series playlist in the meantime:

Do you have general questions for game dev, virtual production, or Unreal in general?

Ex - "How does someone tackle a massive environment?"

Leave your questions below and I might end up answering them in detail in a future video. :)

I have made more progress on the traffic system! You can now:
- Specify the order you want lanes to turn green!
- Cars will randomly choose which path to take if multiple are available.

All in #UnrealEngine5 using BPs! It'll be free on the youtube channel as always!

Just continuing to develop the basis of my blueprint #UnrealEngine5 traffic system.

One car looks like it's low framerate cause it is! You can control the system's framerate per car. No need for tick here. :)

Absolute tons still to figure out, but it's a start! :D

Time to start making my own #UnrealEngine blueprint traffic system. One that will work with splines generated by PCG as well.

It's not much, but it's a start. :)

With the help of @nebukam.bsky.social, I have now taken the traffic system I showed off last Sunday in #UnrealEngine5, and automatically have it populating the navigation in my city thanks to an early look at a #PCGEx add-on.

I'll be going over it this Sunday: www.youtube.com/@Procedural_...

I spent a large chunk of Sunday trying to understand #UnrealEngine Traffic. It's not much, but honestly even this much deserves a video on its own I feel. This is after hours of failures and cars stopping. Would you be interested?

It'd be on my channel: www.youtube.com/@Procedural_...

The next logical thing to add to our #UnrealEngine5 #PCG City Gen is to populate the roads and sidewalks to make them feel less empty.

Tutorial will be coming this Sunday but if you missed how we setup Districts for the city gen, the video just came out: youtu.be/aSfVYXNnHU0

I forgot to share the progress of my #UnrealEngine5 #PCG City Gen with you all. Now with district support!

Control districts through splines placed above with their own pcg grammar modules! Make them unique!

Buildings have been added to the #UnrealEngine #PCG City Gen series that I started on YouTube.

Next part coming this Sunday at 9am Pacific! And don't worry, you don't need to watch the first part if you only care about this. But you totally should. :P

You Finally Convinced Me to Make a Procedural City, Starting With Roads
You Finally Convinced Me to Make a Procedural City, Starting With Roads YouTube video by Procedural Minds

People have been asking for me to make a city gen in #UnrealEngine5 using #PCG for a long time. I've said it's too large for one person to do. But hey, that doesn't mean it all needs to be one video. So I guess lets give it a whirl! Starting with roads:

Well, it seems like MAYBE you guys do indeed want me to do a city gen in #UnrealEngine5. I guess we can start by making a road network with the new 5.7 spline intersection node, and a bit of help from #PCGEx. Then go from there. :)

I've been asked to create an #UnrealEngine5 city gen using PCG. I've said not possible as I don't have the time, and it's very complex. But some things are already possible so... Would you like to see a series of me attempting it using PCG and blueprints?

I have a workflow to take character animations and render them in multiple directions at once in #UnrealEngine5. I use it for 8 directional sprites but you could use this to convert anything in Unreal into flipbooks. Is this something you guys would like to learn to do?

I will be gone over Christmas, but I have scheduled an #UnrealEngine #PCG video for this Sunday for you guys to watch and enjoy. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, or if you don't celebrate it then I hope you just have a lovely time in general. ❀️

Been testing things for Sunday's #UnrealEngine 5.7 #PCG tutorial. One click vines that conform to the geo! Technically you specify the geo it conforms to, but it could be expanded to do any geo. I'll probably get that working by the tutorial too. :P

I have made an infinite #UnrealEngine #PCG wonderland. Load landscape, populate it, and have it literally be infinite in all directions!

And of course a tutorial will be coming for free on the channel on Sunday as always! :)

The new #UnrealEngine 5.7 #PCG Mode is really useful. This was a quick test for creating cables, or bridges if you wanted to, between areas. :)

One of these clusters was made by hand by the original artist that made the asset pack in #UnrealEngine. The others are all a #PCG graph that I created. Can you spot the original?
