though that’s to be expected. My lips are a little numb, i think i chewed them in my sleep, but nothing i can’t handle. Had a bit of blood when i used the bathroom but we’re gonna keep an eye on that and hopefully it’s nothing i need a third damn surgery for. I’m slowly eating pancakes now (9am)

I went home around 5:30pm where my whole family stayed with me and played games while i swiftly drifted off. woke up at 6:30am feeling mild discomfort like I was supposed to feel the first time. Still painful but not as bad as before. I still need help to stand and eating does give me some nausea

My nurse Rachel was super nice and my sister hannah came to visit, swapping places with my mom so she could finally rest. my dad had us play trivia about our favorite shows. I was very stiff and kept getting the occasional stabbing pain in my abdomen but they gave me the good pain killers

I was given ice chips first and then when I took that fine I was sent up some hospital food. My dad fed me (yes he did airplane noises, yes i am 24 years old, and yes i loved that so much) and the food was mildly tasteless but it was mac and cheese, ill never be upset about mac and cheese

I was sent to the labor and delivery ward where it was nice and quiet and I was taken care of by exclusively women (which i’m so grateful for because good god did I need help using the bathroom and shit like that). My parents came and kept me company even though my poor mama was up all night with me

I don’t remember getting anesthesia meds, but i do remember them giving me pain killers, nausea meds, and anti anxiety medication before I went in. I woke up in the recovery ward around 7am feeling better than before but still rather miserable and was given a shit ton of pain killers

I was given more morphine and sent up to the OR quickly where I met the new surgeon (he and the anesthesiologists were so kind and so gentle, i am so grateful for them. Medical workers who can joke with you in the tough times are a god send)

The hospital was still super busy because of a major crash in our area, so we actually had to learn from a nurse rather than a doctor that I had internal bleeding and would need emergency surgery. This was like 4am lol

They gave me morphine and nausea medicine which kinda helped, but the pain would still spike and i would still scream. At about 2:30am they finally got to me and sent me in for a CT scan with contrast. Getting contrast feels sooo weird, like it feels like you pee urself even though u don’t

When we got to the ER at 8:30pm I was screaming in pain and unable to breathe. Luckily this meant I got in way sooner because it was a very very busy night there (which is so abnormal for my small town hospital!)

It hurt to use the bathroom and to eat and to breathe, it was very scary. I couldn’t even laugh! started slurring my words and talking super slowly as the pain worsened, so i called my parents to take me to the hospital. My father tried to get me to stay home and try a shower, but luckily i insisted

I was feeling pain in my abdomen as well as gas pain as they had to put air inside of me to better their visibility. This manifested as shoulder pain as the air rose and got trapped in there. Plus apparently the air can disturb a nerve connected to your shoulder. felt like i had been stabbed there!

I came home thursday afternoon and was in a shit ton of pain, unable to stand without a lot of support and even then each step was genuinely agony. My doctor had said I would be “mildly uncomfortable” so I assumed he was just unaware how it felt since he is a man and had never experienced this

Gonna track my recovery here! 🧵

This past thursday I went in for a laparoscopic cyst removal, but when they got in there they found I actually had three stubborn cysts.

Just so we’re clear:
1. Audiobooks count
2. Reading is political
3. The orange man is a piece of 💩

Thanks for stopping by 💃

I no longer believe art can save the world, but I believe still that it can save me. So in the face of chaos, misinformation, hatred & ignorance, I'm going to make more art, experience more, share more, pay for more & publish more. I started this in darkness & it'll continue to be my light. 🖤🤍

I would recommend timeless transposed up five! Your chords should look like this!

Which chords do you know? I almost exclusively play taylor songs on my guitar so i can totally find one that introduces a new chord while still being easy!
