Call me crazy but I think making literally zero adjustments and not trying very hard and having no gameplan was a bad idea from the Wolves.

“Minneapolis Public Schools has incurred over $5.3 million in tax penalties from the IRS since 2022... That’s enough to pay about 40 teachers, given current district labor costs.”

The MPS School Board is asleep at the wheel. Elections happening this November, get involved!

Nate Westgor, aka Willie DelMar, opened the store in 1989 with a $15k bank loan. He now has multiple guitars worth tens of thousands of dollars, counts the Rolling Stones as friends, and played a starring role in one of music’s biggest mysteries, finding Jimmy Page’s lost guitar.

Another important detail is 35% of the arrests were "collateral" rather than targeted. That means these are folks that federal agents swept up at bus stops and sidewalks as they roved the streets. That jibes with anecdotes but doesn't factor for all the "collateral" people caught and released. (3)

Thanks to a FOIA lawsuit from @deportationdata.org, Minnesota is getting its first credible numbers on arrests during the federal government's surge here this winter. About 3,800 Minnesota residents were arrested. Most from Latin America (only 106 from Somalia). (1)

How Hennepin County spends nearly $200 million a year on homelessness prevention County officials focus on making homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring, while investing in affordable housing.

More could be done but the county board has put a bunch of funding into that stuff FWIW. Here’s a good roundup, $200M per year. Last I read county homeless down by 33% compared to 2020, too: www.startribune.com/how-hennepin....
