@keenjersey.bsky.social great article in the JEP today on the subject of pensions. Rising elderly demographic, and a lower birth rate is a big concern. It’s a mystery why our Gov shelved the idea of an auto enrolling scheme. Madness!
If you are young, do something about your pension.

Relatively new safety surfaces (light brown ones ) breaking up, pot holes everywhere, tarmac splitting , bad repairs everywhere . Terrible .

You really notice what a terrible state our roads are in when you are on two wheels desperately avoiding pot holes & other damage . Massive investment needed IMO.

In spite of a lot of effort & offer of a donation to charity for completed surveys we still don’t have enough for a sectorial breakdown. But could not agree more about importance of education. Our children & grandchildren are the future.

Great piece by Jodie Yettram, full of research and investigation to try and answer this question.

Seems to me it's a mixture of compounding factors, with housing at the top, that are driving the young away and keeping them from returning. Jersey's becoming a very dull island with less young in it.

That would be so great. Plenty of examples of kind, polite & people who can critique constructively in real life in Jersey. We just need that on social media. I always try to imagine I am in front of the person I am criticising.

The politeness of drivers in Jersey is amazing & another thing that makes us stand out. Imagine if that politeness was repeated on social media. Would more people stand for election as an example ?
