How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

If anybody else is learning something new or adapting what they do to new technologies, and the paradigm shift in everything, I would love to join the conversation.

This is also where some of the surplus resources will be coming from later in the year, and there's ample time to decide what to sell, transfer, or repurpose.

Later in the year I will also be shuttering a couple of brands and long-running workflows, which is new to me. I'm used to something flat out failing as opposed to just deciding not to do it anymore. I would love to meet with anybody who has successfully shuttered or sold a company.

I find myself with a surplus of resources, many of which are going under-utilized. I also need to reinvent from the ground up three of my brands/companies between now and Q4 so I'm going to be spending a lot of time learning/relearning SEO, AI agents, marketing, product import rules,

In many ways between caregiving and focusing on family, I HAVE been too busy to pester, but I feel like I have carved out a responsible and meaningful amount of time to focus on entrepreneurship while having it not intrude on my family life.

I am usually available for coffee between 8:20 AM and 11am on weekdays and between 11 AM and 2:30 PM for lunch. The same times apply for remote meetings.
I know a lot of you think I'm too busy to pester, while others have no idea what it is I do, or have a dated idea of what it is I do.

What would you like to work on next, or improve?
While in no hurry, I am longing for a venture with purpose and some level of entrepreneurial companionship.
I feel like I'm buttoning up a 5-year and a 10-year cycle at the same time with nothing significant queued up for the next cycles.

Why Techdirt Is Now A Democracy Blog (Whether We Like It Or Not) While political reporters are still doing their view-from-nowhere “Democrats say this, Republicans say that” dance, tech and legal journalists have been watching an unfortunately recogn…

Wrote up something about Techdirt's recent coverage, and why (whether we like it or not) we need to be a "democracy blog" now, rather than just a "tech" blog (not that we've ever been just a tech blog).

This story is *the* story and it impacts everything else.

USDA milk testing shows different strain of H5N1 bird flu in Nevada dairy herds The USDA said four Nevada dairy herds were infected with an H5N1 bird flu strain that has circulated in wild birds, making prospects for containment in cows appear dim.

4 dairy herds in Nevada recently diagnosed with #H5N1 #birdflu were infected with a different version of the virus than has been spreading in cows elsewhere. Evidence of a second (at a minimum) spillover points to the challenge of stopping spread, experts say. www.statnews.com/2025/02/05/u...

This Catfish Doesn’t Just Move on Land, It Reffles This catfish doesn't just walk. It reffles. New research on the terrestrial movements of an invasive catfish. An armored invasive catfish.

Neotropical armoured catfish – also frequently called “plecos” – are not often thought of as fish that can move around on land. But they can and they do so surprisingly well. The way they move is so unusual that researchers had to invent a new word to describe it: reffling.
