haha, yeah. The way we travel and leisure is complicated and fraught with white supremacy obviously, but so much of it boils down to - well, I wanna go somewhere affordable/beautiful/walkable/with ecological diversity and green space.. Like, babe, we could have that here!
I think this is also tied to how we (societally) view vacations - prioritizing escape and adventure in new places opposed to taking time away from work to connect in our own communities, get to know our own extended environments
Thanks for the info! Did you have a good shop experience?
ooh, would love to know your takes. Iβm thinking about an e-bike for commuting and grocery runs and looking for an upright model with some cargo capacity but Iβm a bit overwhelmed by the finding a shop and comparing models. There are so many options!
@atls.city !set US-OR-Portland
the bridge closure! I was trying to figure that out.
Pedalpalooza theme ride?
havenβt seen one in a while, but those ads used to be ubiquitous
wait what?
Unfortunately, we voted for this just over a decade ago.

Really looking forward to seeing Spokane follow through on upholding drive-through restrictions before Portland does.

Posting up at the Spokane City Council meeting tonight for a mini live-post: www.rangemedia.co/clogged-stre...
Had a car speed around me and attempt to speed around the family biking with a young kid ahead of me on Lincoln yesterday. There was also oncoming bike and car traffic! They could have easily turned off toward Division or Hawthorne to avoid being annoyed by people biking on a greenway.

Tilikum bridge closed to bus traffic this morning. Streetcars and bikes/pedestrians still crossing. @trimet.bsky.social
Glad to see this getting attention. Also stopped shopping after the Pearl closure, with the transparent effort to blame crime during unionization. Donβt have much hope for REI to return to its earlier image, the direction seems to be toward mall locations. Glad we have a lot of independent options.
And Kingβs Bakery!
Annam VL and Belmont Books!
Belmont between 33rd and 35th is up there for me
