Felt so good to do more than just survive this Thanksgiving

I absolutely love how over the top it is that Rachel had to solve a puzzle or her advantage sunk to the bottom of the ocean
#Survivor has officially entered its Jigsaw era
Should I work on my mental health or should I start playing sims again?
It's hard, but I've been doing it for about 2 months now and it's getting easier. Listening to your body is important, but it can be very difficult when it's warped with ed thoughts. I also try and not to tie it to body modification, but rather a celebration of movement. Hope this helps a little
Also in recovery and going through a similar journey. I check in with my therapist a lot, and she suggested having limits (ie rest days, amount of time, the types of work outs I do) that I have to be honest with myself about not over stepping.
friends in ed recovery, it’s ok to ‘miss out’ on pop culture right now if you find it triggering. Filter out keywords, click ‘not interested,’ limit screen time, pls reach out for support professionally & personally. whatever u need to do to stay strong❤️🩹 recovery looks different for everyone!
What people THINK causes depression:
- weakness
- laziness
- lack of resilience
What ACTUALLY causes depression:
- trauma
- abuse
- chemical imbalance
- bullying
- neglect
- low self-esteem
- overworking
- excess stress
Be kind. 💜
Being able to go into Thanksgiving this year for the first time in true recovery is both terrifying and exciting. Sending love to all those struggling this year.
this is a pre-holiday reminder to not comment on what or how much/little you think someone is eating—or your perception of their weight. I promise there are ppl in your life struggling w/grief or depression or in ED recovery or or or—& you have no idea. don’t be the one that makes it harder on them.
Hang in there! It gets better!
Congrats!
It is my mission to see a shift in the field of eating disorders towards appreciating the role of biology as a primary component - across aetiology, illness, treatment and recovery.
I wrote this paper to elaborate on why this is so important: www.cell.com/trends/molec...
