Baby gets measles before old enough for vaccine. Dies 11 yrs later.
Mom: “Refusing vaccinations doesn’t just put your own child at risk. It puts other children at risk. I don’t know where Renae picked up measles. It’s one of the most contagious viruses that exists.”

[agree on no dairy I mean]
I think I agree on dairy for moist fluffy cakes (like a classic birthday cake or cupcake) - cultured dairy makes it more often into tea / snacking cakes which may be denser and have like chunks of apples or nuts to hold up.
I agree that coffee in chocolate cake is a boss move. :)
I’d say, it depends on the kind of cake and the type of texture / taste you’re going for. There are many types of cake and some I’d use dairy for and for others I don’t.
I bake a lot (also was a kitchen manager, did food demos at markets, briefly a food writer and a cooking teacher, etc) and have tried many things. It’s just my preference. 🤷🏽♀️
Some people* like sour cream / yogurt and not coconut milk. 😬 🤷🏽♀️ *I am some people

That is a full-on lie. Vaping increases the likelihood youth will smoke in addition to vaping.
The cheap cuts of meat aren't really cheap anymore.
The cheap veggies (kale, collards, cauliflower even fucking cabbage) aren't as cheap anymore.
We're basically down to potatoes.
Clarence Thomas ruled in favor of Citizens United.
Harlan Crow's political contributions then went up 862%.
Then we later find out Thomas let Crow take him on lavish trips, buy his mom's house, and help fund his wife's conservative nonprofit.
But go on about how "progressivism" is a problem...

Yeah, people talk about how Mackenzie Scott is not a "good" billionaire because if she was, she wouldn't be a billionaire anymore. And like 99.9% of the time that is true.
But we also built a system where you can't actually give your money away fast enough to avoid how fast it is growing right now!
Yeah, Mackenzie Scott is a fascinating case. She is literally ignoring the SOPs of philanthropy in order to give away wealth as quickly and efficiently as possible and she’s still getting richer. At her level it is impossible not to make money. Tax billionaires, A LOT.
Now that Sal Khan failed to use AI to revolutionize math worksheets, he is gonna "revolutionize" post-secondary ed 🙄

Péter Magyar, who unseated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Sunday in a landslide, shared a bombshell with reporters that the outgoing leader had diverted taxpayer funds to bankroll the American Conservative Political Action Conference. trib.al/ct7GGV3
Similarly, "how to get a grant" panels should address the current funding landscape instead of repeating some variation of "innovate harder"
Since Viktor Orbán’s approach to governance in Hungary was cited by the Heritage Foundation as their blueprint for #Project2025 (kettering.org/the-global-d...) it seems like a good time to re-up this piece in Aug '24 piece in @thebulletin.org: thebulletin.org/2024/08/proj...
Now, you might say, "What about all the knowledge we'd lose if we push all the abusive geniuses out of academia?!"
But I'd counter and say, "Well, what about the knowledge we've already lost from the budding scholars whose careers they've derailed with their abuse?"
