These cuts and how they have been implemented undo what it means to do university. The academic community should own the courses, not some external consultant.

Students & Staff need to have a meaningful participation for a university to be a university. #SaveHE #UKHE

NOUS has a track record of cutting programmes which lead to cutting jobs & departments.

Their Cookie Cutter University model means the only differentiation is the (superficial) prestige institutions have from simply being old. The strength of academic research&education is gone. #UKHE #SaveHE

Management paid nearly a quarter million to the external consultancy NOUS, whose generic 'framework' is now used to turn QMUL into a Cookie Cutter University.

These modules make QMUL. They bring students in contact with the cutting-edge research & widen the scope of academia. #UKHE

Strange that we would find a safe haven in a film full of abuse. But seeing some of the shit you experienced AND the way you felt about it in the big screen can be redemptive. Because she never lets them make her a victim.

Revisiting Dennis Hopper's tragic tale 'Out of the Blue' Dennis Hopper's final directorial feature 'Out of the Blue' starring Linda Manz, is a heartbreaking and tragic portrayal of girlhood.

The nazis are coming for me so I’m going to spend my last days writing a philosophical manuscript about the ontology of revolutions

A lot of white people, particularly older ones, think a person can't be a racist unless they're literally telling you they hate Black people and love Hitler.

So there is a value to publicizing them doing that so explicitly.

I am no Zionist, massively disagree with the Netanyahu government, and want to preface what I say with that.

This is no place to be debating the ethics of Israel. Innocent Mancunians were murdered on Yom Kippur because they were Jewish. There can be no equivocation about that. It's not the place.

Please avoid Gen AI as a default position. Not only does it have dire environmental and mental health implications, not only do we grant enormous political knowledge-power to these giant companies by using it, it also destroys and disorients thinking. 4/4

Even sooner, the sycophantic language and flatteringly selective information it presents drove me off the wall. Telling it to stop the flattery just did not work. No wonder it drives vulnerable people psychotic(including family of people I know). 3/4

Soon, I realised it was just disjointed verbosity and that I’d wasted too long with it when I could be using my own mind and credible information sources, literatures and and tools to have gone much further. 2/4

AI chatbots — A technology of disorientation. At first, I thought it may be good for brainstorming and fast text editing. It was useless with anything to do with data processing — it was making data up and lying about it. 1/4

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is asked about the Home Secretarys comments that yesterdays protests about Israels actions were dishonourable (she also said they were unBritish).

Zack is spot on.

Now obviously, the British political/media class have enthusiastically frog-boiled themselves into believing that dragging off two hundred old ladies is just normal, regular centrist moderate politics. But you are not them, you should recognise that this is absolutely deranged authoritarian lunacy.

I urge you to note that “The government today arrested 400 anti-genocide protestors, The Ministry For Crackdowns said those committing terrorism would be crushed by the full force of the state” is the kind of thing you see in background news reports in scifi movies about future dystopias.

Some people (a lot!) want this to happen in the UK as well, sadly. And nobody is stopping them. They are walking on eggshells around them.

Our esteemed expert here appears to have gone from just innocently asking (in 2018) “Is Rising Ethnic Diversity a Threat to the West?” to answering (in 2025) that yes, the degenerate races pose an terrible threat to the herrenvolk and should be driven out en masse.

Its not 'a grift'. Its who he is.

There is NOTHING about #Gaza in my @bsky.app feed. Even if I search for “Gaza” or “Palestine” I get 2-3 day old posts. One has to go back to fascist X to get Gaza news and commentary. The exit happened a while ago when Gaza accounts were being deleted but it’s long lasting and deeply depressing.

How long before they start shooting? It’s a wonder this hasn’t happened yet. Wonder if they are already using an AI algorithm that systematically prevents POC from having a license (not that human agents wouldn’t be doing the same).

Fascism may be defined as a form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation, or victim-hood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy, and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legalrestraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion.

I find myself thinking about historian Robert Paxton’s 2004 definition of fascism far too often than I’d like these days. Note that these sentences were written back when Donald Trump was a NYC playboy libertine who donated to Democrats.

So far, we know that the Americans sent neo-Nazis, Christian Zionists and anti-Muslim Christian Nationalists to Gaza - and it’s those men that have been opening fire on Palestinian civilians along with the IDF.
