A woman who never leaves her house still manages to appear everywhere. Every attempt to define her creates another version that contradicts the last; the people tracking her begin to echo the patterns they find in their own lives, without realizing it. #TTRPG

We're far more likely to be watching @pbs.org than anything with dragons, spaceships, or superheroes, and our games reflect those sensibilities. #PBS #TTRPG #PublicMedia

An analysis of Dungeons & Dragons as a system that continues to expand in popularity while its core design stabilizes, limiting innovation. Explores how repetition, discourse cycles, and structural constraints shape the future of roleplaying. #ttrpg

An agricultural outpost is falling apart. The land has stopped behaving as it should; crops surge and fail with no discernible pattern, animals avoid sections of the fields, and no one agrees on what they’re seeing from one day to the next.

Great, now my spaghetti is spying on me, too.
We're more likely to be listening to NPR than an actual play podcast. What we create reflects those sensibilities. #NPR #PublicMedia #ProtectMyPublicMedia

“Roleplaying games for people who listen to NPR”
“Roleplaying games for people who support PBS”
“Roleplaying games for people who use the library”
I used to worry lines like that would offend people. Elitist blah blah. But I think it’s funny, it’s true, and anyone bothered has other games.
Just came from a jazz concert. Watching Midnight Cowboy on Tubi now. Later I’m going to read some more of Booker Int’l shortlisted Taiwan Travelogue.
I’m currently working on the next batch of narrative RPG scenarios, and getting ready to write the next story bible. All for the Patreon. www.patreon.com/cw/Lightspre...
I've marked down all of the roleplaying material I wrote and published before my current health issues.
Nothing over $5.

Beneath the Parish Seal
A parish keeps a secret that it can no longer control. Beneath its foundations, a second world has begun to stir, sending altered figures upward while pulling others down, an organic system that operates on its own terms.

On Advice of Counsel
A team of newspaper journalists uncovers a story of corporate corruption that leads straight to the parent company of their news agency.

Big-ass table in the middle of the sheet so players can figure out if the roll is a success, and the degree of success.
The old James Bond 007 game, where about of a quarter of the sheet was the resolution table. 👍
The Audience Must Believe
A national film studio sits at the center of power as a celebrated director and his crew push productions forward under constant scrutiny.

Before the Next Uprising
The revolution already happened, and it failed. Those who helped to bring it about are now scattered, watched, or dead; those who stayed have learned how to live under an oppressive regime.

Everyone says bsky is the best place to find #TTRPG people, so here I go:
I hate GM screens. I trust my players, am okay with my rolls being transparent, and think games that need charts and tables are probably more complicated than they need to be.
Um... maybe this is a hot take, but creating community content for a corporate IP TTRPG doesn't make you "indie".
If anyone actually reads this, I expect some of them to be really, really mad. Hopefully, some will read it in good faith and get what I'm saying.

For my next “no one in the roleplaying community will give a fig about this” trick, I’m abandoning the concept of genre in recent and upcoming releases. The RPG equivalent of lit fic. No one will care, but I’m loving it. Full post tomorrow.
