Went to Whidbey yesterday and learned they hold a little parade in Langley every spring when the grey whales return. ❤️

Missed the parade but still got to watch the whales hanging out close to shore during dinner.

I'm struck by the number of modes of transit these astronauts will experience today.

1. Slicing through the Earth's atmosphere in a spaceship
2. An inflatable raft
3. A rope swing
4. Helicopter
5 Aircraft carrier
6. Airplane.
7. Van.

Just 2 days left to vote! Heartspell was my first time writing for a project like this, but I really am quite proud of it. We would be very grateful for your support.

Sandhill cranes leap into the air to argue, against a backdrop of prairie and snowcapped Colorado mountains.

A sandhill crane comes in for a landing and looks really awkward while doing so. Other cranes look on.

Another awkward sandhill crane landing over a big flock of landed cranes against a snowy Colorado mountain.

"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.

(I could also stand to be less reliant on Wacom products too, since the two seem to be working together to hasten premature hardware obsolescence, but really can't afford all new stuff right now.)

Guess I'm using 3DCoat or Marmoset and... literally any other image editing software. Thanks for saving me money by becoming unuseable and irrelevant. 👍

Quitting Adobe turned out to be easier than expected for me; no adobe software has recognized pen pressure on my big cintiq for years (all other software works fine) and nvidia stopped supporting the gpu of my mobile studio a few months ago (no software has a problem with this except Adobe's).

Over 50% of game developers now think generative AI is bad for the industry, a dramatic increase from just 2 years ago: 'I'd rather quit the industry than use generative AI' The latest GDC survey also found that managers are more likely to use generative AI than their employees.

"Our standing rule is: If one of us brings up using GenAI in any of our work, then it's safe to assume we've been assimilated by The Thing and should be burned alive by Kurt Russell," said a game design consultant in the US.

Watched the game entirely for the Bad Bunny show but the chaser of Seattle joy was nice. (As was having a warning before my neighbors started launching a billion fireworks lol.)

Updates on the Status of Adobe Animate
(Text Preview) Hey everyone, my name is Mike Chambers, and I work on the community team at Adobe-

Commentary on screenshot-
"Adobe Animate is in maintenance mode.
While we are no longer adding new features to Animate, we will continue to support it and provide ongoing security and bug fixes. More importantly, Animate will continue to be available for both new and existing users. This is a change from what we communicated in the email yesterday for the status of Adobe Animate, its time-frame, and availability."
"To be clear, we are not discontinuing or removing access to Adobe Animate and it will continue to be available to both existing and new customers."

In case anyone wants a little break, here are a few of my favorite facts that I learned in 2025, in no particular order.

Some trees benefit from, and may even encourage, getting struck by lightning because it kills their nearby competitors nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1...

Hundreds of thousands of people attend San Diego Comic-Con each year and the excitement that generates isn't because they're eager to meet a computer spitting out homogenized slop. Artists, writers, actors and other creatives gather and celebrate the popular arts in person because the people part of the equation is what matters most. I support SDCC's position on this and hope other conventions follow suit if they haven't already.

We've had 69 reviews for a while now and while I find that very thematically appropriate, I wouldn't mind moving on from this era if anyone wants to help.

World’s fattest parrots set for mating bonanza after bumper berry crop After a four-year hiatus, conservationists in New Zealand are relieved that the flightless kākāpo is once again breeding. Fewer than 300 of the parrots exist.

Happy for them 😊

Heartspell: Horizon Academy has a lot of stuff I just wasn't expecting. There is a good little bit of poly negotiation. There's hypno kink stuff and some notes on the associated social stigma. They got like tropey stuff people love like fake dating. And like I actually enjoy being the guys friends.
