Loved meeting Claire- would love to chat about our work here in Worcester, and where next we can take our projects
Lovely to meet you! Absolutely love your work
Back into a plenary sessions where Tim Gill is encouraging us to find our truth, build our tribe and not give up. Children’s rights matter but their voices are easily ignored (8/?…)…
Great discussion facilitated by @geekdadgamer.bsky.social about digital play, and how to children digital play blurs into IRL play in ways that adults often overlook. Check out his book! (7/?)…
Then a fascinating discussion with @adfreecities.bsky.social about advertising and children (6/?…)
I then moved into a workshop on children’s wider freedom with Tim Gill, Mat McDonald and Claire Macdonald from @solveschoolrun.bsky.social (5/?…)
Helen Godwin regional mayor sits with a microphone on stage. She is wearing red trousers and a blue top.
Moved on to political leadership with a great panel. Inspired by Helen Godwin’s work as WECA regional Mayor in making bus travel FREE for under 16s during holidays (pay attention Worcestershire 👀), and how cost of travel can be a barrier to young people’s freedom and play (4/?)…
We then heard from inspirational community activators telling powerful stories about connection through play streets from Bristol, Hartlepool and Leeds. Incredible to hear about play and its role in combating narratives of division… (3/?)…
Alice and Ingrid standing at a lectern in front of a screen displaying images of children playing out in the street
…started the day hearing from Alice and Ingrid @playingout.bsky.social about why it started, aims, impact, learning and plans for what’s next…(2/?)…
Spending the day surrounded by inspiration, energetic changemakers at the Playing Out and Beyond event in Bristol @playingout.bsky.social @playworcester.bsky.social (1/?)…
Really excited to at this event today organised by @salawatson.bsky.social what an incredible line up of speakers. Great to have a day focusing on my two big passions ✨play✨ and ✨mobility✨
This is a brilliant article- read and share 😊 I’ve had the privilege of working with ATE superweeks for over 20 years and have seen the power of allowing children independence; giving them space to be themselves away from pressures of day to day life; and play!

You’re here too! Let’s have a coffee together!
Well said, councillor Katie Collier @positivelyplayful.bsky.social This is good news, but the government needs to go further and scrap the two-child benefit cap to lift more children out of poverty.

So thrilled to be here at the Start with Children summit thanks to @bikebusworld.bsky.social so looking forward to 2 days of thinking, learning, planning, plotting about what we can do to build cities that work for children #startwithchildren
This weekend Rob is running the London marathon for RNLI, who were so amazing when his dad was lost at sea during a kayak race. He’s raising money for them in his dad’s memory 2025tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/rob-colli...
Yes of course!
Terrible idea. More parking won’t make it safer for children; nor will it improve air quality around the school; nor will it enable more people to walk or cycle.
I was lucky enough to facilitate the workshop with children and young people, and so got to witness them create this…
Reflections on the Global Bike Bus summit 2025: 1) It was energising being in the same space as so many inspiring, kind and positive change makers. 2) Children’s voices need to be front and centre when it comes to active travel and urban design. How we allow them to move matters.
Yeeeaaahhhhh we are!
So excited to have @cyclesprog.bsky.social putting in this session for families tomorrow! 🥳
Thank you! I’ll share the YouTube links with you too!
This week in Worcester we are hosting the Global Bike Bus summit- CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! (especially givenWorcestershire’s track record for active travel, perhaps in spite of😒). So EXCITED
