Where Can I Find the SAP BusinessObjects Release Notes? Last month— March 17, 2026, to be precise— SAP released patch 9 for SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025. Whenever SAP releases a new patch of SAP BusinessObjects, I always review the release notes first so I can understand what issues have been corrected between the version I'm currently using and the one I hope to upgrade to. Documentation generally takes a couple of days to appear after the software is available, so there's generally a gap between downloading and installing new software.

From Live Office to Lost Office: SAP Closes a Chapter Live Office was a plug-in for Microsoft Office created by Business Objects as part of the XI R2 platform released on November 25, 2025. Over its lifespan, it matured to empower users to embed and refresh data from Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and universe-based data providers directly into Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. It was supposed to bring business intelligence directly to Excel users to break the cycle of organizations deploying expensive analysis tools only to watch their users dump the output into Excel.

Live Office is history, but Web Intelligence and Microsoft Excel are still very close friends.

Customizing SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 and BI 2025 (aka 4.4) use a new Fiorified BI Launch Pad, so the manner in which properties can be customized varies slightly from earlier versions of SAP BusinessObjects. SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 became generally available in December 2020. The Fiorified interface changed from SP0 to SP1 (GA) and gained some much-needed usability enhancements when Support Pack 2 was introduced in December 2022.
