That’s so fair. While the visuals are astoundingly beautiful, I’m not sure it’s “groundbreaking”. Not every animated movie needs to be so it’s chill. But I agree hailing it as such for its visuals doesn’t add up. The success of its soundtrack however, is groundbreaking

might have to dm ya about htis. but i think a lot of it has to do with the fact both america and korea value a lot of the same beauty ideals. big eyes, small nose/mouth/chin. light skinned and very skinny. imo the designs really work in KDH, even if they aren't revolutionary.
