Title: Olive Branch Content: Olive cultivation plays a crucial role in the Palestinian economy, so much so that the branch of the olive tree has become a symbol for the Palestinians' connection to the land, their resilience, and their desire for peace during the occupation. They're also a regular theme in Palestinian art! Palestine's olive harvest takes place between October and November of each year, and the fruit it bears is used to produce soaps, table olives, and olive oil (which no Palestinian dinner is complete without!). Not only do the trees provide business, culture, and sustenance, but they also can withstand drought, freezing weather, and even fire, and have proven to be as unbreakable as Palestine's culture itself.
