A beautiful piece of writing. Thanks for sharing it.
That’s a solid pick. The thing about the show is that I would’ve watched spin offs of about 10 characters on there. They were all interesting and profane.
That was my first of hers that I read and I cried at the end. Loved it.
We are in NC with a similar snow / icy crust on top and our 100 pound dog is sinking with each step. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be chonky boy.
He was sooo good on Ally McBeal.
Childhood’s End is such a good book.
I remember being mesmerized by Timothy Olyphant in that movie.
I can’t even get through it all. It makes my head hurt. Wow.
Due Another Day
People were always walking across rooms to talk to Maxine.
A cozy blanket to snuggle in during the winter?
Ma’am, this is a Wendy’s.
Dead Again
We are the same age and The Sure Thing had a similar impact on me. Whenever I meet someone named Nick, my first thought is “Nick’s your buddy. The kind of guy that doesn’t mind if you puke in his car. Nick.”
You know you are old when someone power washing your front porch and gutters just makes your day.
I also went to UNC and the electives are what I remember well. Classes like “Ancient Rome”, “Castles and Cathedrals”, “Art History” and “Acting for non-majors” forced me to think outside my Econ bubble. I would never have taken them if i hadn’t had to fulfill certain requirements.
Hard disagree. Loved Logan.

@andrewporter01.bsky.social Just finished The Imagined Life and loved it. You captured that era in California perfectly. Thank you for telling such a wonderful story.
I finally had the time to read this and loved it. Cried a couple of times. The writing was wonderfully evocative and captured that tone and place perfectly. Thanks for the recommendation.
Be careful out among the English!
I would add Seinfeld season 4
I’ve been looking for red suede pump.
Sometimes those short moves can be almost more exhausting than a long distance one. I once moved from Lakeview to Evanston and it almost did me in!
I had that book too and it made many moves with me over the years.
I hope so too. Won’t be read for a while but I am now looking forward to it. Thanks!
You just convinced me to buy it!
Lincoln Park Zoo is a nice walk and then you could head over the pedestrian bridge to the lakefront.
