Not too long ago, my city strategically removed benches from in front of a church. Yadda yadda yadda...Christina Park.

"Benches are where optimistic visions of civic life meet reality. To remove them, or to curate who gets to sit, is to abandon the work of defining a civic ideal and determining, together, how to live up to it."
NEW: Why benches are slowly disappearing from public spaces β and why we need them back:

Unfortunately delaware is "real", but it's just a series of toll booths.
Make someone other than the general public backstop limited liability. Damages aren't limited, why should liability be?
Make the state that registers the corporation backstop the liability.
Make Delaware get a real job.
Unfortunately, Beardsley dropped out a few days ago to run for a State Senate seat. July is the deadline for another challenger to file and run against Coons. I hope someone, almost literally anyone, does.
Perhaps I've underestimated how many craft breweries can fit into a P.O. box in Delaware.
Real cleaning up of the risk pool would be access to all preventative health care, access to clean air and water, stable housing, healthy food. You know, all of those pesky social determinants of health that he finds so abhorrent.

Blank concrete wall about 20 feet tall and extending 200 feet along northbound Concord Avenue, Route 202, at I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware
I've spent the better part of five decades staring at this blank wall that serves as the visual gateway to my home, Wilmington, Delaware. That's four decades too many. We need a mural here, something thoughtful and beautiful, to take the place of the liminal void.
A hundred years ago, the U.S. had a nationwide network of short-line railroads that connected most urban and rural communities. By the 1940s, most of it had been dismantled ... by the barons of the auto and oil industries. π

Arenβt we lucky that nasturtiums are beautiful as well as help repel pesky insects! Thank you for supporting small businesses; your choices matter. BTW, Epstein. #farmlife #garden #flowers
Congratulations!
Not sure Bluesky is super effective for this sort of thing, but for my Delaware people on here: this fall I will be teaching one of my favorite non-major classes, βQueer Perspectives on Popular Music,β and you should encourage (cool) students to take it!
University of Delaware peeps
Hey remember that crypto firm that used Wyoming's new state crypto banking laws* to gain access to the Fed's payment system?
They're being extorted by parties who gained access to their internal systems. (The company says not to worry tho.)
*laws Delaware Dems are *currently* trying to replicate
It was Valentine's Day, which is demonstrably more absurd. Coons is a jackass.
Fewer cars on the road, fewer road worker-driver interactions, fewer injuries and deaths. Build the trains, fund the bases. Let's go.

If you've ever been to Delaware you'd know it's kind of like Narnia. Once you're inside you can travel any distance in any direction and never leave
Here is a link to the @stockingthecapitol.org explainer video that caused my change of mind. For now, the Integrity Index is my go-to resource. I'm always open to learning more and doing better, and so can you!

I've been using this graphic a lot lately, but @stockingthecapitol.org did an explainer that I learned a lot from, and I won't be using this again. For now, it seems the @trackaipac.com methodology is not sound.
Not yet, I don't think so, but the filing deadline is in July, so I have hope that WFP will put up a good and wonderful person to try.
Integrity Index gives Delaware US Senator Chris Coons an F, noting that he holds over $9 million in stocks and gets 86% of his funding from non-Delaware sources, including over $300k from corporate PACs. He has no business representing Delaware in Congress.
