The Moon: oh wow you guys decided to come back
Artemis II crew: earth’s haunted
Posts by Jacy Eberlein
I'm just listening to Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables by the Dead Kennedys on repeat today.
Jello Biafra was always right.
Someone with the handle @velocity69.bsky.social is sharing a video with the caption:
"The highest quality video of the moon was just released…
so beautiful
* Artemis II"
It's gone viral, but it's not from Artemis II. If you've shared it, you might want to un-share.
Still from Mobile Police Patlabor: The Early Days (1988), where Asuma is using a payphone. It's a low angle shot, and the light on the top of the phone booth is glowing in the characteristic 1980s anime style.
I'm surprised that they weren't used more in Anime. The most prominent example I can think of is the Patlabor TV series episode from 1988.
With the special glow exposure masking they did in the 1980s, payphones were fantastic visual elements, like in western media.
I decided I wanted a Nikon D700 again the other day, so I contacted someone I know who collects them, and he sold me a high-shutter count model on the cheap, and threw in a second one to see if I could fix it.
The battery on the broken was toast, so now I have two working D700s 👍
Photo of the small Army & Navy letters along Calgary Trail covered by scaffolding. Plywood board would cover the old logo the following morning. Shot April 2026 in Edmonton, Alberta by Jacy Eberlein. Shot on a Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 AF-D.
The boards are going up over this right now, so I'm glad I got this shot last night.

I am deeply hoping for you. I don't think I could eat peanuts even if I found out I wasn't allergic, my mental block is so strong...
But maybe I could have nice chocolates for once.
I have to assume that their manufacturing costs are extremely low due to taking advantage of the Chinese manufacturing capacity, and not worrying about IQ because aberrations are kind of the point.
Keep overhead down, and that's a sustainable business model.
Yeah, I can't quite figure it out. I remember thinking it was neat back in high school, but I got one of their early lenses for tiltshift a few years ago at a thrift store for $20, and I can't figure out how to make it useful.
I was so disappointed by this. The Affinity suite was great as a pay-by-version, but I don't trust Canva not to screw with things.
I love the framing and contrast on this one. So good.
Take a look at this one #believeinfilm

Is that the monument that the Tam Tam happens at? Great little park before the Mont
On the rare occasion I go on FB, people will just reply to technical questions with what they got from an LLM, and it's just like... why. stop it.
I love photography (particularly film photography), typewriters, understanding systems and structure.
Books, music, and podcasts are my go-to forms of entertainment.
I joined Bluesky in 2023 because I loved Twitter from when I joined in 2008, and this is my preferred form of social media.
I have recently discovered that part of that was my undiagnosed ADHD and the failure of the coping mechanisms I had built.
From there I worked as a photographer, until I was able to continue my work with narrative construction as a developing editor last year.
My major policy focuses were disability rights, homelessness, and planning. Over the past ten years, I have only become more radicalized on city planning as a major factor affecting all aspects of our society.
In 2021, the isolation of work-from-home caused me to burn out hard.

I realize I've not done an introduction post for myself, so:
I'm Jacy Eberlein, I have a BA in English from the University of Alberta. I ran for St. Albert city council in 2017, then worked a variety of jobs before working with the Alberta NDP from 2019-2021.
Let's be honest, the actual solution requires such significant redevelopment and rethinking of zoning that no one is going to go for it
The scramble crosswalks are a harm-reduction measure, and one we should keep
I'm happy to discuss planning policy, just not on here—It's too complex for 300 chars
I have it. I almost had a panic attack when someone was trying to show me the beautiful wasps nest they had found last year.
I think it's rooted in fear of swarms of attacking insects, particularly the idea of burrowing into skin.
Oh, I have that one. It's a poor description. It's moreso about small repeating geometric patterns, something that could be made by insects, or that has made many fine holes in flesh.
It's irrational, but that's phobias for you. I don't encounter it to the point that a warning would be needed.
And all they gave the poor astronauts were Nikon D5s. Not a 500elm in sight! Pity.
Oh, I will be extremely interested to hear y'all's opinions on Sam Vimes
Citizen Kane is great, but I think it suffers from having been an innovator. What it created was special, but we may not recognize it as such without a critical eye
We can hope, although the fact that they're removing the scramble crosswalks is concerning. I'm annoyed that they're not taking a holistic approach to things.
photo of fluffy white dog with pink blossoming trees behind them. text below reads: You have found Forever Immunity Dog. Immunity dog protects you from all cursed posts for the rest of your life. Do not comment, like, or share those cursed posts. You are safe now. Immunity dog protects you.
"post something random or you'll have an absolutely awful April"?
no. you are safe now. Forever Immunity Dog has got you covered.

It's a hell of a fit, particularly with the red contrast, and the camera as an accessory. Looks like something out of Moebius or some shit
How does a fucking museum go into receivership?! It should be publicly owned!
I saw a couple, and it was just kinda sad. "Haha, here's one glimmer of hope in a dark world. April fools!"
